McGregor took a dive for the money

he hid it well cause he had to play it perfect so he didnt get sued or not paid...his face before the fight was just kinda washed like he was a zombie. starting the fight with a running kick was obviously not very smart....but the thing that i dont get he didnt act like very disappointed or angry. i saw him fake put his hands in his face probably from embarrassment but most people would show emotion in the face like i cant believe this shite happened...then when the ref wouldnt stop it he did that little fake limp for one second so he didnt have to submit.....i dont think he wants any part of fighting anyone. his facial expression the whole time was just like this was a quick boring theater he had to get through. its over for him and he really isnt even fun watching his press anymore cause he doesnt have the promo ability he used to by a long shot.

Did you see when they replayed the clip of him just efore entering the octagon? He was avoiding putting weight on his right leg before the fight even started. Something was up there….

I saw it was an issue when he took his shoe off and looked uncomfortable. Then after his strut around the ring, when he got in his fighting stance his face looked like a guy walking to his death.

You’re not bright. There’s way more money in him winning

Not a dive he did take a pay check
He was hurt on his way into the ring he should have never went into the octagon injured, but if he dosen't go in he dont get paid.

Who says he shouldn’t have? What if it was just his pinky toe was a little ouchy? Unless there is a standard in the rules, his arse should go out there and try to fight, which he did.

I know they showed that shortly after the stoppage and said "we don't want to infer anything from it", but Dana posted video to his insta a little bit before the fight and McGregor was throwing kicks, pivoting on the knee and everything looked fine. He def wouldn't have been doing that if blown out at that point.
If it was prior, it happened in the 30 min between Dana's video and the ring walk.

My guess is that he tweaked it while throwing those kicks backstage. Still went for it and blew out his ACL.

Likely the correct answer... tweaked it in warmups and decided to continue on.
Can't believe his first move was that jump if he knew it was fricked... but also could have thought "gotta make it believeable". Who knows, but I turned it on for the Paddy and McGregor fights and got a wopping 2 min of action

The one thing that bothered me was why would Holloway stop and point out to the ref that something appeared wrong with McGregor's legs. That's not a normal reaction at all from an MMA fighter. They go into aggressive killer mode when they detect a weakness.

MMA is filled with scammers and crooks?
No freaking way...
No freaking way...

What?
That's the proper response of a professional fighter who has fought and rolled with the same guys for years. He knew something was wrong. These fighters process information in the ring way faster than we do. Holloway saw something was wrong at least as soon as when McGregor fell the second time. He could tell by the way McGregor was pulling his right leg.
It was actually really good sportsmanship to hold back in that moment. I doubt McGregor would have done the same though.

I agree, but a fighter dosent look that off removing shoes...
It happens

Max is absolutely known for being highly respectful and sporting.
People don’t realize most of the “hate” in the lead up to a fight is all show. The best fighters in mma all say you don’t want it to be controlled by anger or hate because that will lead to being flattened pretty easy.
People are going way out on a ledge because of it being Mcgregor but we sit it time and time again when a fighter will do exactly what max did and if the ref doesn’t stop it then they will finish him. In the lowest levels of mma you have guys that would just go for it but in UFC you see what Max did way more often.

It’s a very normal reaction, you see fighters look at refs all the time when they think a fight needs to be stopped

He knew he wouldn't last long, so he went for the kick in a "homerun or strike out" swing. That was his only chance to win, I guess if he had that injury minutes before.

He was planning that kick to start it the whole time.
It was probably the move injury or not because if that fight got out of the first, Max was going to win. 5 years out of the game is such a long time and because of who he is you aren’t going to give him a guy that someone coming off 5 years out would start with. Plus it’s not like he had been in peak condition and shape for those 5 years. Mcgregor is almost a victim of his own success and how big of a star he became.
