70 attempts. Like barely 2 games worth of throws.

What a clown show you are.

70 attempts. Most screen attempts in the nfl that year. It’s okay. Drew Brees bread and butter has always been his screen game. Nothing wrong with that.

Yes.

There are 22 fricking players that start in the nfl

For 50% of the game, a qb isnt even on the field

He had 536 attempts last year. So screen passes were 13% of his game.

Wow, 13% of his game is screen passes. That’s a lot of passing dedicated to the screen game. Well, at least compared to other QBs.

Ryan is a great QB. But yes Brees is better

Hmmm, that chart makes me feel deep passer rating may not be as important as we thought

Unless we think having smith, stafford, mccown, and bortles at 1-4 makes sense, while Brady is middle of the pack and Ben at the bottom

2017 Season Final QB Rankings

quote:

2. MATT RYAN, ATLANTA FALCONS – 89.8 OVERALL GRADE

Excerpt from the PFF QB Annual: Ryan’s 89.8 overall grade is just 2.8 points down from last year’s mark and actually higher than the three previous seasons before that. After a slow first month of the season, Ryan definitely found his groove in 2017 and went through the rest of the year on something of a tear, with the only hiccup coming against the Saints the first time the two teams played

quote:

4. DREW BREES, NEW ORLEANS SAINTS – 87.8 OVERALL GRADE

Excerpt from the PFF QB Annual: Brees finished with an overall grade of 88.4, marking the second straight year he has dipped below his previous baseline of 90.6, but even that dip saw Brees finish as a top-5 quarterback. However, the Saints more than made up for Brees’ slight decline by improving dramatically around him, with running backs Mark Ingram and rookie Alvin Kamara combined to form a formidable duo

Ryan’s contracts has no offset language. His $100 million guarantee is a real deal, true $100 million guaranteed.

Yikes

Only way for the falcons to not pay the full $100 million is to cut him after 2018 and they’d only be on the hook for $94.5 million lol

Which I thought the arguement was deep ball passing?

Ryan was ranked 22nd and Brees 9th.

Ryan is a damn fine QB despite what alot of Saints fans say. But Brees does not necessarily just checkdown either.

I didn't do that, but thanks.

He brought up Brees and I posted the stats.

I agree. The checkdown/screen argument seemed like he was trying to belittle how Brees gets his stats or something. The screen is and always will be a big component of the Payton/Brees offense. But it's hardly the bulk of that system.

The Falcons also lead the league in drop passes. Julio and Sanu both had 7 a piece. Most of those were on the deep ball. And Julio dropped easy ones too. Was not his best year (still better than most).

You mean my comment after I responded to someone saying the same exact thing about Ryan? Crazy.

Not pictured due to injury: Aaron Rodgers.

You'd likely see him at the top of those lists going back, which would change your estimation of importance of that stat.

Agree, but in this very thread people are saying Matt Ryan sucks because he doesn't have a ring. Even though he played well enough to win one.
