Can’t they sit out on their own and forfeit their salary if they so choose? Why do people always act like these things are out of their control? They don’t have to play.

Because that's not really the issue and you know it. This is the best of both worlds. They get to complain, then they all come back and make the money anyway

“I play for the fans; that’s what it’s all about,” James said then. “If I show up to the arena and there ain’t no fans there, I ain’t playing.”

Remember when he claimed to know Kawhis family and that his family is so connected to the Lakers that he walks into Staples gets greeted by the Buss Family then taken to his courtside seats

While the NBA Players Association approved the league's 22-team plan to finish the 2019-20 season following a hiatus because of the COVID-19 pandemic, a number of players apparently are not comfortable taking the court again until police brutality and racial inequality issues that have dominated headlines of late are fully addressed.

During a conversation with Josiah Johnson for Yahoo Sports' "Dunk Bait," former player Matt Barnes said, "A couple guys from the Lakers and the Clippers ... there are some whispers about some teams not being comfortable. Some guys want to play and some don't want to play."

Don’t see how that helps injustice

it does keep LeBron from losing in the finals again so Lefanboi's could then argue the Lakers would have won anyway.

Bye.

I’m pretty sure if there were no NBA or NFL my life would go ahead as normal.

Why don’t these players and leagues wake the hell up and realize these sports are not required viewings. If they want to strike for injustices, or turn the sports in an infomercial that alienates millions of people, then have at it. The fans will then just have more time to do more productive things in their own life. The players will have to find a new way to make money. Who really has the leverage here?

If the NBA and NFL continue to screw this up I hope fans will keep them turned off. But maybe another sport will wise up and just play the game without all of the politics. Would be hilarious and send a strong message if the NHL gained millions of viewers that the other sports lost because they actually cared to respect the audience.

The NBA is going to be so ridiculous when it comes back. I wouldn’t be shocked to see BLM logos on jerseys and courts.

You have to feel for Milwaukee and the House that Giannis built. Losing out on an NBA Finals appearance vs the Lakers as well as the Democrat convention

Nope. 82 games, condensed.

The NBA has communicated with general managers that the regular season schedule for 20-21 could be condensed to keep the league as close to its usual timeline as possible, according to Travis Schlenk of the Atlanta Hawks. The NBA could play more back-to-backs and sets of four games in five nights, which the league has attempted to move away from due to player rest. The NBA plans on beginning the 20-21 season on December 1st, which is approximately six weeks later than they have in recent seasons as opening night is typically in mid-October. Game 7 of The Finals is scheduled for October 12th. Michele Roberts has indicated concern about a short offseason.
