Having played every sport, soccer is by far the most fun during games. You go out there and run around and do ur thing with hardly any stoppages and the coach cant really bother u

I never knew that baseball was popular in Taiwan.

I was in Taipei in 1971 and watched the victory parade and celebration for the 2nd of what would be 17 National Team Little League Championships. Seemed like half the city was there, and the team was actually from the other end of the country. Baseball has been king there for 50 years.

Sure have, pal. And yeah, serious as frick.

I can see MA, NY... do other states like Maine really like baseball more than hockey?

Baseball is bigger than football or basketball in Nevada?

The NFL is much more popular than the other major sports- I'm surprised there as much yellow as there is - baseball is at a low point of popularity on a national level.

Not as low as you think. And with players like Trout, Harper, Verlander, and STanton, the game is making a HUGE come back.

football (soccer) is the most popular because of how freeflowing the game is, it rarely stops, and when you are watching some of the top teams, it really is amazing how they move the ball. Never understood why many americans have so much hate/disgust for the game, or why they call it "soccer" and named one of their sports football, a name that really has everything to do with hands, and not feet

Quality of the professional leagues won't allow that. Maybe as a recreational sport, but not by viewership.

it's weird because ive played soccer my whole life and all that jazz and i like playing basketball better now. i know a few people that never played soccer but it's their favorite sport to play.

i think it basically boils down to the fact that basketball is easier to get together with friends and have an even game as everyone is competent enough. i dont think ive ever fully enjoyed playing soccer with friends because everyone is fricking terrible.

In general, people in Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont talk Red Sox 365 days a year - they talk hockey during hockey season only. It's always been that way, even all those years when the Red Sox were terrible year in and year out.

People have been saying that for the last 20 years. As long as the MLS is a second-rate league, soccer will continue to remain a second-tier sport in the U.S.
