So Bob nightengale, I know, wrote this today about Machado. His tweet is in the MLB thread but I thought this would get more discussion in its own thread. Especially given the likelihood that this gets buried given the shite that might go down this weekend in the NBA

Now the article only mentions the Dodgers by name but I'm not really convinced. I'm more interested in this
quote:

The Orioles aren’t predicting a timetable, but one Orioles executive said the market is starting to move, and it’s possible he'll be gone by the All-Star Game.
is moving him this early in the orioles interest? Does machado lose trade value the longer this goes on while the renting team gets less playing time out of him? Or should they wait to see what develops at the deadline? I can see both arguments but I lean towards trading him earlier is better

You would think him going early would also set the market as well. The dominos are probably
Machado
Donaldson
Beltre
Moustakis

still think the Yankees jump in on him. THere isn't really another team the has the surplus of lottery tickets that they have(especially arms); where it can be said on the Yanks end, if they trade them, it really wont disrupt the future of the program.

I think Chris Archer is the guy who is going to be looked at even after the injury

Its sad there are only 4 teams in the league..........Yankees/Red Sox/ Dodgers and Cubs!!

Another reason I am so glad the Astros OR anybody but those 4 wins it all.

Ziegler could be somebody if they make a decent offer to Miami.

Sorry I derailed the topic

If I was needing a pitcher I’d call Detroit and ask them what it takes for Casey Mize

I think he can pitch in the big leagues now

If i was Oriole fan, i would be pissed.

Orioles at Winter Meetings were offered to pick 2 out of weaver, flaherty, hudson, etc and then pick one of tyler oneil/or other minor league OF.

Orioles won't get anything like that offer, no one can match that then, or now. thankfully orioles were 2 stupid to take it, and wanted to see what market would be, LOL. that franchise is fricked.

Couldn't see it happening with the Yankees while Andujar is playing well and showing he belongs. I think with him playing well has changed the Yankees thinking about players to acquire for the price they want.

Especially this year. It looks like it'll be a weak starting pitching market. I think he's a little overrated, but he's 29 and has a few years of team control left on his deal. He'll command a big return.

Am I the only person that doesn't really see a market for Donaldson? Dude hasn't played all year and I read he won't be back again for at least another 4 weeks, and he hasn't really been his elite self the past couple years anyway. I wouldn't even make an offer for him.

Donaldson will have a market, but he won't return as much as the Jays had hoped for.

Moose, Beltre are certainly ahead of him right now, plus you may have a couple of other players who can play 3B open up.
