that isn't true. Fan support has never been an issue for the saints. Hell, the 30,000 person waiting list came before we started winning

the bball team gets support when they aren't terrible

Minor league baseball usually only does well out west where there is nothing else to do but pick corn & breed fat chicks

Yes, would be a great city for a western team to relocate.

Agreed. Although I truly think Las Vegas isn't a great market. All the entertainment money stays in the casinos.

Charlotte

I don't think so. They already have an NFL and NBA team not to mention NASCAR (don't underestimate the NASCAR influence in that media market.) Not sure that media market is ready for an additional pull.

Mexico City or Monterrey

Not sure the MLPA would agree to these. BUT, they would be great for the global growth.

I wouldn't discount Nashville for a move for an eastern or central team.

How about a real team in Houston?

Would all you Braves fans jump ship and make it another New Orleans/Atlant rivalry?

Pro baseball doesn't and wouldn't work here. Too many games, not enough people. I'm surprised someone hasn't seriously discussed building a NASCAR track down here. You'd get 50k people down here for a NASCAR race once a year easily. That is something we could get behind, whether you are a NASCAR fan or not.

The ballpark would need to be built in the swamp between BR and NO.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the people of NO don't support the basketball team and didn't support the Saints very well until they started winning.

you're wrong. The saints were basically the Red Sox of football before Payton/Brees. Not much success but rabid fan support.

They don't care about MLB because we don't have a team. Kids in LA are raised on baseball from the moment they can hold a plastic bat. As a kid, baseball was far more important than football and remains the case until you start watching pro sports. The problem lies in not enough people, not a lack of enthusiasm or passion.

Right...but with football you have 8 home games a year and they're all on weekends. There are plenty of asses in those seats that are traveling from surrounding metro areas like BR, Terrebonne and the like.

You even get some attendance from MS. It's tough to do that with baseball.
