I strongly disagree with what a lot of yall are saying.
For one, saying MLB wouldnt succeed because they Zephyrs don't is like saying the Saints wont succeed because the Voodoo didn't. It is an entirely different product.
New Orleans has shown it will support a winner. Putting the stadium between NOLA and BR is a good idea. The population could support it, along with Northshore money and drawing people from the Gulf Coast. What visiting fans from other teams wouldnt want to come to the NOLA area on a road trip to see their team play? There is no doubt in my mind we would outdraw Miami, TB, etc.
If MLB is serious about this RBI program they have going, putting a team in South LA would be a great idea.
The only problem would be finding an owner

New Orleans has a AAA team that can't drawn fans
LSU's actual attendance is much less than 10k and we have the best program in the country
No other city in the state could support a team

There were years in the 90's where the Saints averaged less than 40-50k per game.

I don't see any expansion in the future and I don't really see any other markets an MLB team would move to.

They plastered the numbers all over ESPN all weekend. LSU averaged 10,500. What are you talking about?
