Brees has 2 more TD’s all season than Mahomes has in only road games

Was just coming here to post this. MVP loses the 4 biggest games of the season

Tell me how he lost any of those games. He put up 40 on the road on NE. Came back to take the lead and the D couldn’t make a stop. He put up 51 on the road in LAR and took the lead and the D couldn’t make a stop. He put up 28 vs the LAC pt 2. And they had possession 10 min longer and went for 2 so they wouldn’t give him the ball back and tonight he lost by posting 31 points up on the road in SEA and the D yet again couldn’t make a stop.
SEA had the ball 12 min longer. Could you imagine what he would do if he had a D that could give him 2 or 3 more possessions? He is without both starting guards all year, missing their most expensive WR, down to their 3rd RB and he still is doing something never seen before...but please tell me how he lost those games?

Mahome's has twice as many losses in the lesser conference. Does winning not factor into this thing anymore?

Everyone can talk about 5,000 yards, TD totals and still putting up big numbers in losses.

If Brees wasn't awarded the MVP while doing that his ENTIRE damn career, then it shouldn't matter for Mahomes.

To be honest, the fact that Brees hasn't been awarded regular season MVP in his career is a testament to how meaningless the award is and how clueless the voters are.

Don't listen to those dorks...

Somehow the second Chargers game is amongst the 4 most important but the first wasn't?

Your most important games are your division and some conference games. He's 4-1 in the division and something similar in conference

Well sure, but when you're comparing how they fared against good opposition, you can't just use division opponents only.
If that's the case, Tom Brady should have won MVP every year he was on the Patriots.

Mahomes needs one more win and he has accomplished what Brees did this season...#1 seed. That’s all that matters right!?

I'm not comparing anything. I'm saying that saying he lost his 4 most important games is fricking stupid.

The years Brees lost were to Peyton Manning twice, Aaron Rodgers & a 2,000 yard Adrian Peterson season. Yep so clueless. And if the award means so little why do Saints fans make threads every time Mahomes looks like he may lose a game.

I wouldn't say those were the 4 most important, but they were certainly some of the most high profile and against the best competition he's faced all year.

That has to matter in the MVP voting no?

So you're telling me Drew Brees, in his ENTIRE career with a team/franchise/fanbase that used to wear bags over their heads and had made the playoffs twice (?) before he arrived, was never the most valuable player to a franchise in the entire league?

He is also going to have a great majority of the passing records once he's done and will have put a 30+ year abysmal franchise in with the upper echelon of the NFL. All the while doing this with some of the worst statistical defenses (and in one year THE worst) in NFL history.

How can you do all of that and never once have been the most valuable player? It's fricking asinine.

Because they want to see Drew be recognized officially on the books I guess.

It just sickens me to see names like Cam Newton and Matt Ryan on the winners list, yet somehow Brees isn't. It's a fricking joke.

Come on, Mahomes is playing a football game with the 31st ranked D in the NFL. Give the Rams, Chargers, Saints, Patriots, Colts, Seahawks etc. the Chiefs D and all those teams have at least two more losses.

Most valuable player.

Chiefs were a playoff team with Alex fricking Smith.

Are you going to tell me that the Saints are a playoff team without Brees?

So now we care about shitty defenses?

Brees has played with some of the worst (and in one year THE worst) defenses in the NFL.

No one cared. In fact, everyone made that the reason his stats were so good because they always had to throw.

The "V" in the MVP stands for valuable.

The Chiefs made the playoffs with Alex fricking Smith, so their team around the QB couldn't have been that awful.

Tell me what the Saints' record would be if Brees were not on that roster? I promise you it wouldn't be good enough to make the playoffs.

This thread has been great.

All the reasons that people are giving as to why Mahomes should win happen to be all of the reasons that they gave as to why Brees shouldn’t have won all those years.

For some odd reason, the posters on this board don’t want Brees to win the MVP.

His line for those 4 games:

352 yards, 4 TD, 2 INT, 110.0 RTG
478 yards, 6 TD, 3 INT, 117.6 RTG
243 yards, 2 TD, 0 INT, 110.3 RTG
273 yards, 3 TD, 0 INT, 103.4 RTG

So against “the best competition” he has thrown for 1,346 yards/15 TD/5 INT or an average of 336.5 yards/3.75 TD/1.25 INT.

I’d say that’s pretty good.
