Probably Jacksonville, as their attendance problems are well documented.

The only team in the north east with possible problems is Buffalo and that's because they haven't been very competitive in about a decade

they have one of the most hardcore fan bases in the NFL cue Mikey

Their numbers drop the last home game or two b/c they suck and its 15 and 3 feet of snow out yet the fricking Canadian fans are still there

outside the stadium, right at kickoff. I have bought tickets for around that price in Indy, Pitt, SF, NOLA, Tampa and Jax

Calm down. He didn't say the Saints were the only exception to the rule

They haven't had a blackout in about three years.

Prices for tickets, concessions, and parking are just ridiculous

prices come down, attendance will go up.

NFL owners may resort to gimmicks to avoid coming down on prices, but it doesn't change the fact that increasing cost will decrease demand.

black tarps

and the owner buying up the seats. In big NFL towns they don't have this problem when every seat is a season ticket and they don't have to sell single game ones

Absolutely. That was my point of this thread. It's almost as if they're blind as to why attendance is what it is. They can talk about adding wifi, replay, etc all they want.... but it is all about the money their greedy asses charge. They'll have to bite the bullet if they want more people coming.

thats not true

even in cities with a decent team and decent prices the numbers are not up, perfect example is San Diego

Personally I think the home element and the redzone channel have made people couch potatos. I know my tv stays on redzone for 6 hours during football.

Saturdays are for football

Sundays are for getting outside and doing something active

frick the NFL

obviously they are not decent enough.

San Diegans have many more options for entertainment than going to a football game. Maybe the franchise is in the wrong town for the prices they want to charge.

I'll be honest, I will watch the redzone package over Saints games now. I got bets and fantasy football which makes each Sunday pretty kick arse. I think to an extent they are canabilizing themselves.

I went to a few NFL games and I really dont like the experience as opposed to CFB. So I must admit its not really deterring me.

in non NFL towns it will always be an issue. In places where every ticket is sold before preseason it does not matter how much they charge the fans will be there and sell out. Markets like NY,Boston,DC,Philly,Pittsburgh,Bmore, Green Bay and Chicago the owners basically charge what they want regardless the product on the field.

Another factor is that Americans are MUCH more transient than we were a few decades ago. Because of this, many of the people who can afford tickets are watching at home on Sunday Ticket or are at a sports bar watching THEIR home town team.

I'll pay to go to the Falcons/Saints game, but I'm not going to buy a ticket for the Falcons/Jags.

Here in the Atlanta area, there is at least one sports bar that is the "headquarters" for every NFL team.

Now, it's not like that in places like NOLA, Green Bay, Buffalo, Pittburgh, and other smaller markets, but in places like San Diego, the Bay Area, Phoenix, (Los Angeles...), Jacksonville, et al, you have so many transplants that there really isn't as much true local support.

I think the NFL is facing the same issues all sports are...and that is too many teams. It's not as watered down as MLB or the NBA, but you could easily contract two teams and not too many fans would frown.

In the North, NFL is still huge like always. I think the Jacksonville, Arizona, San Diego/Oakland situation isn't something you would see up there.

Even the Bills market woes are due to a dying city, not a bad fan base.

if it were a decline in the product the tv ratings would indicate it.

The NFL tv watching audience is driven pretty heavily by gamblers and fantasy football players. If you're betting multiple games, you want to be able to watch those games instead of being in the stadium wondering WTF is going on in that game.

Buffalo attendance has really only dipped last 2 or 3 seasons. They still atleast sold tix. Last year started off great but injuries and losing streaks sucked the life out of people. For not making the playoffs this century I understand not wanting to make late season games when money can be tight and such. So far I think 3 games are sold out so far which isn't terrible considering

Buffalo may break through this season. They have acquired some talent in the offseason, showed signs of having a solid backfield, and if Fitz can be servicable for a whole season, who knows?

In the East, it's NE and the Jets they have to worry about...but across the conference, not many teams stick out to me as locks to get in. I would say Pittsburgh, Baltimore, Houston, and a shite team from the West.

Fitzy is more than serviceable..he was lighting it up last year until he broke some ribs. Tried to play through it which while tough may have been a mistake...but we had no backup that could do better than a gift fitz
