Whose is ULL? I’ve never heard of them. Most likely it was a typo and you meant to type UL.

Funny yall haven’t seemed to close the $170M deficit over the last 6 years.

All of which was covered by auxiliary fees and RCAF donations. So only a deficit in the since that the audit has a reporting criteria that doesn’t show the deficit being covered.

Similar to the “alleged” TAF covering the $179M deficit big bad LSU runs.

USL and La Tech should stay in FBS. UL-Funroe should drop down to FCS. NW State should just become a Junior College.

I read they covered last year’s $44 million deficit (or whatever the amount was). Are they also covering this year’s $20 something million deficit?

Has this been built into fund raising with a plan to always cover a set amount? Just wondering if they are pulling from reserves and/or in danger of delaying or canceling projects if this continues, or if they are using newly added revenue that is earmarked just to cover the shared revenue which has been biggest cause of the deficits this year and last.

That cap will almost double if Senate bill for college sports gets passed by the House (limits some specific outside controlled “NIL” while increasing what is controlled by the schools).

$44M was for the entire university, not just athletics. The previous administration increased faculty by over 600 positions while decreasing student population by nearly 5000 undergraduate students. Eliminating degree programs such as Gender Studies and other liberal arts DEI/Woke curriculums solved most of that.

The athletics deficit was much less and had self generated auxiliary funds earmarked to cover the deficit.

Yeah, these three schools football programs are dragging down the states finances.

Not schools with a 20% graduation rate that are the third rail

The opposite. USL-L is upside down 20M, Tech 17M and Northeast a mere 10M. We stay as is, yall merge with Southern and Grambling respectively and go to the SWAC.

But really, I don't care anymore. Drop them down, go back recruiting local kids and put some asses in the stadium.

Do you have a link for this? Everything I have read today has said it was the athletic department’s shortage.

The 5000 decrease in undergraduates by Tate isn’t accurate. Tate was increasing each year which is why white undergraduates decreasing in both # and in % under Tate was so telling of what Tate was trying to accomplish.

The new guys are trying to slow it down.

EDIT: Just in case - I was asking a question to the poster about TAF.

Landry gets what he wants.

He'll screw tech because he"ll pick people that are yes people.

The next tech president will not have the best interest of the university at mind.
