It will never happen, just trying to demonstrate how stupid of an idea it is

Toyota Center can host hockey games, is it that much worse than the current arena hosting games for the Coyotes?

Side note: I want to cheer for a team in Texas but just not Dallas.

Hartford Whalers..the H.. the W..and the whale tail all tightly clustered together..near perfection. Swank!

A lot of people have looked at that look logo for years or when the Hurricanes have used it for throwbacks on occasion and never realized the H and W were there. It is a damn good logo, props to whoever designed that.

How much of a renovation will the Toyota Center need in order to be towards the top of the class in the NHL?

How old is it? The newer NHL rinks are incredible. I'm sure the new NBA ones are too. A lot of those are shared though.

I was pissed when I found out the Red Wings allowed the Pistons to share their new Little Ceasars arena. What a stupid name. At least if they wanted to name it after the ownership (the Ilitich family owns and started Little Ceasars and also owns the Wings and Tigers) They should have named it Little Caesars Palace. I guess that would be too close to the Palace of Auburn Hills where the Pistons used to play.

I haven't been to a game there yet, because I lived in Florida for most of the time since that opened and the Wings have sucked. I think I've been to more away games for the Wings at Amalie (where Tampa plays) than I did Joe Louis.

I didn't want half of the arena dedicated to Pistons BS compared to the Wings history.

Built in 2003 so it is coming up on 20 years in October.

One massive advantage for Atlanta which might tip the scales in their favor is that it seems like every airport in the country connects with Atlanta due to Delta.

The current host is ASU, yes for those who don't know... ASU now has a D1 hockey team which IMO is great. That would be awesome to go there and play hockey. We already know how hot their chicks are and chicks love hockey players for whatever reasons. Hockey lingo... PC version they are called puck bunnies. For this board, puck sluts.

Anyways, their barn seats 5,000, which isn't anywhere near NHL standards. The hilarious thing is that it's called Mullet Arena. I had to do a double-take the first time I heard/saw that. It's not named after the hairdo, but some donors. That's still an awesome name though.

It's the busiest airport by far in America. I just looked it up to double-check. In 2019 (I'm going pre-covid) it had 53.5 million go through there. 2nd place that year was LA with 43 million.

It is the busiest airport in the world but they have a great layout and it's easily navigable considering how many people are using it.

Yeah I’ve never had a problem at Hartsfield. Super easy to get around especially with the plane train

It’s the busiest in the world by 20 million. Last year the airport had over 93 million passengers, next was LA with 73 million. It’s pretty crazy how busy it gets

Only issue I ever had there was that the BWW ran out of wings.

The Hockey News really likes Salt Lake City. It mentions that Smith would likely let Meruelo hang around as a minority owner. I presume Fertitta wouldn't be on board with that.

Despite being over a decade older, I'm curious how Vivent Arena is NHL ready now. While the Toyota Center isn't. What upgrades does Vivent Arena have that the Toyota Center doesn't?

I’m just wondering if SLC can support two major sports that play concurrent seasons.

On a serious note…why not Austin? They want a pro team badly. The money is there.

If they move here they won't play at State Farm(Phillips), they'll play at Gwinnett Arena 20 miles NE of downtown while the new arena is built.
