The folks on here who seriously suggest the Astros or Rockets build a new stadium in The Woodlands or Sugar Land always give me a good laugh
Sorry we don’t want to go to an event in the ghetto. We want a nice experience.

There’s a Cheesecake Factory with your name on it then

The suburbs model makes sense when you have a small city and giant suburbs or the inner city is a giant shithole. Doesn’t make sense at all in Houston context.
Inner city Houston isn’t a shite hole? Dude come on now. You can’t seriously believe an entertainment district on the outskirts of the city wouldn’t make sense.

Where?
And No it’s not a shithole lol

There is some Kansas City chatter. But I think KC is being used to sweeten the pot somewhere else.

Detroit wanted East for many years. They aren’t gonna boss around an original six team this time around if that happens.
If the Coyotes move to Atlanta, they would remain in the west I would think, at least for the time being. Both Detroit and Columbus complained for a long time about being in the West; don’t think they’d move either back into the West.
If that happens though, I also wouldn’t be surprised if the league then tried to expand to 34 into two out of these three: Houston, KC, SLC. If/when that’d happen, Atlanta would then move from the West to the East to put 17 in each conference.

NRG area, med center area, Greenspoint, downtown, south Houston, southwest side, basically everything inside the beltway.
The workers at Minute Maid are the worst. It’s gotten so bad.

I am willing to listen to why people think Atlanta is more deserving
Atlanta already has a ready-made arena 20 miles NE of downtown in Duluth(Gwinnett Arena) where the team can play in the interim while the new arena in Alpharetta (which would be about 15 miles due west of Gwinnett Arena) gets built. Duluth is in the bullseye of where the bulk of the fanbase for a new franchise live so this would be a good start for any prospective Atlanta franchise. The NHL wouldn't have to worry about being charged rent out of the arse to use the arena in Houston.

Friedman said on his podcast today that the league wants an East/West balance. So Atlanta and Quebec City are unlikely.

Atlanta can actually be placed in the West. At least till expansion happens again

Where would you put the stadium genius
Posted on 5/17/23 at 5:52 pm to SteelerBravesDawg
It's not a given that expansion happens though.

I think H-Town would support it

I think they are going to Houston. Atlanta's latest failure was too soon. DC had to wait for over 25 years to get another baseball team. Give Houston a first chance before giving Atlanta a third chance. Some places are just able to support a team or sport for various reasons.

Theyd be like any other non traditional market. They would support the team during the postseason when it makes the playoffs, probably not so much when they dont
