Your argument is Messi should play with 10 Pakistanis to prove how great he is

It's also an argument that ignores how the Barca team was actually built and ignores Messi's tremendous versatility.

Find a major that has 10 Pakistanis and sure. You just dont have a valid response and you understand that over 15 years barcelona was built for Messi.

Its ok.

Thats cool, Ronaldo isnt in la liga anymore so there isnt anyone else to compete with him.

Because I'm trying to point out that the team wasn't really built for Messi until Xavi and Iniesta slowed down, which caused him to play further away from goal, and still allowed him to produce as many goals and more assists than Ronaldo. He had 1/5 the touches in the box Ronaldo had last season, yet had more goals.

The notion that Ronaldo didn't have teams built for him is also straight up not true. Those Mourinho teams were 100% built around Ronaldo, as were those Zidane teams.

Both Ronaldo and Messi had teams built around them, but Messi's been more versatile, playing with a wider variety of attackers than Ronaldo, while also moving further away from goal.

Sure was, but who is his competition now?

Its luis suarez and that horse faced pos isnt going to beat Ronaldo.

And Benzema? He's had a huge year, but to think he could take up the slack for Ronaldo. Perez is an idiot.

Fair point.

Just saying being on the same team for your entire career has huge benefits.

CR7 supporters also claim the Euro title where Portugal drew their way to the final and got a goalazo from Eder when CR7 was long gone and had no impact on the match

The inability of Barca to find like for like replacements for Xavi and Iniesta also undermines your point. Messi had to take on the creative role, receiving the ball far deeper than before, or else Barca's attack would suffer, and does suffer when he's not on the field. They finally found someone to fill the Xavi role in Arthur, but it's been a half-decade since Xavi left. It hasn't been a plug and play system, in either Ronaldo's or Messi's case.

Dude, iniesta played his entire professional career at Barcelona.

Like 16 years.

And Xavi played his entire career at barcelona as well.

Alex Honnold is literally the only person in the world who climbs at the level he does. He's not physically the best climber, but no one can touch him in the mental game, climbing tough pitches without a single mistake for hours on end. There is no one else. There is no soccer player, football player, or basketball player who stands out that much from the crowd.

It's like you aren't reading anything I wrote, and also, Inieta played in Japan and Xavi in Qatar after they left Barca.

Let's lay out some facts. Messi had his best seasons, statistically, when Xavi and Iniesta were in midfield. When Xavi and Iniesta fell off the top of their game, Barca couldn't find like for like replacements, which forced Messi to change his whole approach to the game, i.e. receiving the ball deeper and in more central positions, recycling possession, playing long balls, etc. That undermines your very notion the team was built around Messi. It's more true to say that Messi's versatility covered Barcelona's deficiencies. It took Barcelona five years before they found a like-for-like replacement for Xavi, in the form of Arthur, which allows Messi to play closer to goal, when Arthur does play.

Please read what I wrote carefully.

I want to point out the world record holder in the decathlon as at least equal the athlete Messi is. Kevin Mayer

Just to point out a few of his person bests: He high jumped 6-10, long jumped 25 feet, runs 10.55 in the 100, pole vaulted 18-4, threw a fricking javelin 235 feet, and can run under 4:40 for a mile (which is also probably faster than Messi).
