Dutchtown better beef up the schedule in the future.

Yep, you are correct.
Heading for a showdown with Northwest.
My Dawgs will win. (granted, I am biased…as any Dad should be.)

The ASH Ruston game should be exciting. The JV matchup this week had 8-9 varsity starters for Ruston and 7-8 on ASH in it and ASH won a pretty tight game Fumbled on the Ruston 5 fir a Ruston scoop and score with two minutes left to pull the score to 24-21.
Well played game.
(The guess at varsity starter numbers is a guess from secondhand info., just to point out that there was some good on good)

Again I may have been told entirely wrong by the Ruston fan that told me. I do know they played that huge TE receiver the first half. He is hard to miss. And ASH has about 7 sophomores starting varsity, so we always have a few playing JV.

Superdome rematch tonight in Opelousas.

Collegiate
That 3A district has a few schools I feel bad for - Helix and Collegiate. You have a 3A district with two schools that regularly compete with and beat good local 5A schools in Madison Prep and U High. Then you have Parkview Baptist who is usually serviceable in football. Round it out with Port Allen and Glen Oaks. Any above average athletes that would have went to GO in years past go to Madison Prep and Southern Lab or other local selective enrollment schools.

You think football is bad? Baseball is even worse in that district.

Held Abbeville to 2 yards of total offense

I saw Christo Rey baseball play a doubleheader at Lafayette Christian. The umpire stopped the game in the first inning after LCA scored over 20 runs and just declared three outs

This team has give up. Last weeks game was called with 8 minutes left in the 4th. Players fighting amongst themselves, ejections, ect. Hard to believe they won a playoff game last year.

St. Ed's was up at half but PCC made some good adjustments. They slowed down Summerlin and SE was forced to pass more. The defense and the QB making some plays won them the game.

How about Jennings beating Norte Dame 17-16? That’s something you rarely see.

I saw Jennings at Cecilia last year.
They have the stud RB Zeno back. They can shorten a game tremendously by snapping it with a few ticks of the play clock left.
I knew they were really onto something this year when they beat Northwest by 3 TDs. Northwest is a very good Class 3A team.
The next week after Jennings played Cecilia, Northwest came to Cecilia in the semifinals.

Bunkie at Jena will be a good one.
I hope it is man. I don’t think we’re nearly as strong as the past 3-4 yrs but still a tough hard playing team.

Baugh is the one that started the whole, “If you’re not a senior, you play JV” thing in the area. Craziest thing I’ve ever seen. Legit 4 stars on punt in JV games. They believe you can’t replicate live game reps. Ruston and ASH both do this every game. ASH plays their starting QB and WRs. Said they need the chemistry…
