But this is the new live oak! Strong as the Oak! Look at our oregon/miami o that's actually badass but we don't use on our helmets! Tremble at our new stadium! Field turf! Best academics in the district! Cool tradional uniforms!

Dude I'm a Live Oak alum but beating Redemptorist is not as great as you think. Live Oak basically beat a JV team tonight. Literally 2/3 of Redemptorists starters are freshmen and probably 90% of their team is sophomores and freshmen. And you have to remember that their staff has barely been together but maybe 1.5 months. Im just amazed that they went from 17 players in July to 44 right now. Redemptorist WILL be on the upswing in the next few years. I'll give credit where it's due but the way you're talking, you're making it sound like live oak beat Curtis or something and that's not even the case.

Northshore is not as good as last year. And they were not even good last year. Chalmette should win that one pretty easy.
ummmm...
every now and then a team has a night where everything goes their way
we did last year against Northshore and they did this year against us
the way we looked tonight, Berwick might have given us a game had we played

A little recap on the Lincoln-St. Paul's game.
Final score was 14-13 Lincoln, but the score was NO indication of how the game went. Lincoln absolutely dominated St. Paul's offense, and if they would have played a bit more inspired on offense, themselves, they could have run away with it.
St. Paul's was held to 46 yards of total offense. QB was 3-16 for 16 yards. Their RB (Gaines) scored on a 12 yard run after an interception by Washington early on in the first (deep in Trojan territory), but then was held out until the end of the game (injury, maybe).
Unlike most dominate Florida teams, Lincoln is not necessarily flashy and reliant on the quick strike. They pound the ball and eat up the clock with screens, draws and a massive offensive line (although, to St. Paul's credit, their defense was the only reason they were in the game).
Lincoln had a very shifty, explosive RB that did most of their grunt work. Their 2 SEC-caliber receivers (Taj Williams and Reggie Davis) were less than impressive. Both had several drops, although Williams made a nice snag over a St. Paul's corner and scored on another catch on 3rd down from the 8.
Lincoln's defense made it impossible for St. Paul's to do anything. They completely disrupted the timing of the Wolves' offense (something they rely on for execution in their long-developing setup plays). To QB's credit, he had zero time to think back in the pocket.. he made several nice scrambles and beat a few sacks, but it was not enough. Didn't help that he didn't have a receiver that could bail him out on some one-on-one coverage.
The Trojans gave the Wolves every opportunity to win the game though, committing turnover after turnover, it seemed, as well as dropping key passes on 3rd down. They even allowed a spectacular 84-yard punt return for a TD from St. Paul's Sean Lozes, which gave the Wolves the lead late in the game.
But as it would be, the Wolves' offense would be what conceded the winning points by throwing a pick six on a very slowly developing screen pass, to which the QB took a 3 step drop, faked one way and threw the other, under the duress of the Trojan rush, and did not really have time to look at his receiver, thus floating a "gimme" interception for a TD to the defender.
All in all, I was impressed that the St. Paul's defense kept it as close as they did. Luckily, they will not have to face any more teams of the caliber of Curtis or Lincoln, so we may get a glimpse of some offense in the near future.

Yeah..I stayed for a little of the Curtis game. They are a well-oiled machine. No team is getting on their way.

Dude named Lent Bursey. The swiped him from Fair Park in Shrevport. His previous year at Fair Park he racked up a grand total of 0 victories. Hell of a hire.

Game of the Week
The Notre Dame Pios win a big one, 24-21, over the Breaux Bridge Tigers. The Pios trailed 21-2 in the third quarter and scored the winning touchdown with under 2 minutes to play in the game.
I thought Breaux Bridge was 7-10 points better than ND

From what I saw last night, don't look for more than 5 wins. Karr is very good, but HHS lacks size and has no offensive line. Defense was supposed to be the best unit but they aren't real big and Karr had huge holes all night long. Even with coaching changes, the talent is down right now.
