Looking over the scores, the series of the weekend might have been in 2A. 6 Seed Springfield took 3 Seed Mangham to 2 extra inning games before losing game 3. Overall, the two teams played 28 or 29 innings in 2 days.

So the 1 vs 16 & 2 vs 15 games are run ruled and favorites win series 2-0. Not thanks. Too many teams in playoffs thanks to spineless coaches and principals that don't want to play against the big, bad private/Catholic schools that recruit all their players. I guess that is why the majority of Parkview Baptist's team has been there since first grade! Oh yea, remember when the chief of recruiters were West Monroe, Ruston and other big public schools? Been going on for decades.

You’d think they schedule it better so teams only have to make one trip to Sulphur and not 2... especially coming from way far away.

Wow
which was a 7 inning game that was 8-0 unlike the 3a and 4a 1 vs 32 games which were 20 and 18 to zero.

You folks that don't think there were early and late round playoff blowouts in the pre split era couldn't be more wrong. St amant won 2 5a finals by double digit runs.

I don't care about the blowout you doof, it is the fact a 3-24 team made the playoffs.

How about we just cut down the number of teams in the playoffs? Of course for 5A it should stay at 32. Everyone else could be cut down some.

That’s the principals call

Not gonna happen

You may see an increase in smaller school division playoff teams

Opelousas Catholic beat Calvary to make the state title game in their division. They have a freshman shortstop that PBR has rated as a top 150 or 200 player in the country for that age.

He is very very legit in all phases of the game. Seems like a solid kid too. One of the best freshman I have ever seen.

There shouldn’t be 12 different classifications or whatever it is. Trim it down to 6.
