Guess we might as well not even play the games then.

Northshore has the offense. Dutchtown has more pitching IMO. I know Northshore has the submarine guy. Don’t know if anyone else.

Northshore's pitching is average to good. The sidearm guy changes speeds a lot to keep you off balance. If you don't have a 5 run lead you cant feel comfortable. Northshore can hit that good.

Dutchtown pitching must be pretty good. Mandeville could hit very well and they 1 hit them. So I was impressed by that

Can anyone explain why the 5A and 4A private schools aren't combined in the same division? You can't tell me McKinley should be in the playoffs after only winning 5 games during the season and getting thumped 44-2 in two games.

Not sure what's going on with Rummel in baseball the past several years...they are not the program they once were.

I think they made that entire old junior high campus a batting/pitching cage and locker room, so hopefully that pays dividends soon.

yep a couple of 4a schools with a lot of clout... that's why...they are with 3a... and 2a schools with a lot of clout that didn't want 3a with them....

Denham vs Captain Shreve and Dutchtown vs Northshore were hard for me to choose. I think both of these series will be pretty good and could go either way.

Also I just don’t think H.L. will have the pitching to be able to win a series. They may be able to win one game but I can’t see them winning the series. As a St. Amant alum, I don’t think things could be going any better so far in the playoffs. You get a Destrehan team who was on a down year in the first round and then H.L. Bourgeois upsets a very good Acadiana team. What’s next? A Covington upset over Sulphur?

I don't think HLB has the roster to win either. Both their guys threw against Acadiana. Pretty sure both threw over 50 pitches. I think the ace threw close to 70, and the other guy was over 70. Gotta figure one of them is throwing tonight on short rest. They're scrappy enough to steal a game, but St. Amant will be able to handle. Personally, I think Denham and Dutchtown are more battle tested through district. Northshore and Shreve are legit, but it's not like either team's district is loaded.

Dutchtown will have the pitching. They always do. Denham can be a dangerous team in my opinion if they can just win. I could see both series going either way. Dutchtown and Denham both have been tested during district and being tested really helps you out in the postseason. It’ll be a very good series but I see the home teams pulling it off this weekend.

When Zack Smith is on the mound Covington is really good. If they can win a game without him on the mound tonight (assume he throws game 2) it could happen. Covington struggles at the plate

LHSAA needs a rule that prohibits teams with losing record from being in the playoffs. The McKinley situation is a perfect example.

Yeh, I know they won't do it but if they could swallow their pride and sit down and look at the brackets and how many teams get there with horrible records now.

Holy crap! Wossman, in 3A got to post season play with a 2-2 record! They played 4 official games. WTF? Getting to the playoffs these days is NOTHING.
