Brother Martin hit 1,600 including 8th from the late 90s to early 2000s. Jesuit was north of 1,5000 including 8th at that time. Rummel was over 1,400 including 8th.

I'm pretty sure Maurice is the only town in the parish that is increasing in population.

South Lafourche wins its appeal due to post-Ida drop in enrollment. The Tarpons will remain in 4A.

The fact that you called our district (6-5A) the Northshore district got me thinking...what if all of the 5A districts had specialized names?

1. Northwest
2. Northeast
3. Acadiana
4. Capital
5. River
6. Northshore
7. Bayou
8. Metro
9. Catholic League (as is already the case)

Pineville and ASH would be in 2 different “areas” but 5 minutes apart.

Makes sense for them. I doubt they’ll hit pre-Ida enrollment over the next 2 years. It sucks for 7-5A because they’ll still be sitting on an odd number of members, making scheduling a bit more difficult.

This sounds about right (but didn't realize Rummel was ever that big!)

why is Karr not in the same district as West Jeff and Ehret?

Rummel had no real competition for all the boys in East Jeff woo were middle class and had parents who would not let them go into the city for school.

My 8th grade Catholic School class in East Jefferson had 21 boys. This was in mid 90s. 17 of the 21 went to Rummel. 2 to De La Salle, 1 to Holy Cross, 1 to Brother Martin.

The school I attended is no longer in business. There are much fewer Catholic school boys, and the ones they have, more and more of them are choosing to to go say Haynes or to a Catholic school in the city.

They will be if LHSAA doesn’t let them play in the Catholic League.

The LHSAA put out the initial district plan for 2022-24. These are NOT THE FINAL districts. Schools have several days to file appeals.

PRELIMINARY DISTRICTS

SPOILER: They put Karr in with the Catholic League

It came in way over budget and they’re revising plans

They've only begun dirt work and land developing. How is it already over budget? I assume it is a projection of material prices?
