re: Letter from USC Alumni/Boosters sent to Chancellor Folt regarding USC's hiring practices

Power struggle w/lesser big money donors who want to run shite w/some serious arrogance thrown in for good measure. The fact that they complain the Pac12Net has equal revenue sharing is so pathetic and myopic it’s no wonder they were getting cut out of the decision making.

I read all of it. Not sure why I did that.
Same.
The letter could have gone without insulting the new kids on the team by calling them USC's "worst recruiting class in two decades" even if they are. They didn't do this to the University and it is unbecoming of someone in the "Trojan family."

Should have been "lowest rated recruiting class in 20 years". No insult, just fact.

About time.
"An athletic director from outside the program, with no ties to the University, free from cronyism."
Alumni finally stepping up and saying this Trojan family stuff has gone too far.

I hope every ball bounces Clay Helton's way this year and USC somehow wins 9-10 games so they have to keep him.

His bringing in of Graham Harrel at OC to switch to the Air Raid offense seems to be working.

As long as he stays out of the way of Harrell, Drevno and Pendergast, I'm fine with him staying. It's when he actually makes calls on his own that we have problems.

USC must have went after Woodward.
Schools that would probably be better off as independents:
USC may be better off as an independent like Notre Dame than having the PAC12 bring them down.
Texas should be independent also since they pretty much are already.

Read the whole thing, clear and concise. Looks like the alumni are fed the frick up and mean business, both in athletics and cleaning up the university.
Good to see that. I feel LSU alumni would be like this if the BS that F King has pulled on the academic side was more publicized. #firefking

She was hired because "of your artful handling" of the UNC kerfuffle and for fighting the NCAA on the sanctions.
So, she got the accolades for getting UNC off essentially scot-free for their Swahili self taught classes, etc.
And that's why she's been hired away from Dartmouth, not an athletic powerhouse, but somehow USCw has decided that she's their one.

The letter seems to say that this was part of the problem.

USC has taken on too many challenges the last 10 years...cleaning up South Central, buying up property left and right and building the modern student friendly Trojan Village out of the slums and ashes of L.A.'s ghetto...renovating the ancient Coliseum to modern NFL standards...
There's been just nothing but money, money, money focus and drive on donations from alums.
It's non-stop...we need $500 million this year, we need $250 million next year, we need to build this and that and pay for this and that.
The President and athletic directors just became fundraising shills who had no pulse or control of the University, students or athletes.
