yea. Who would be excited at the possibility of watching historically great basketball
last year was that. They were historically great but there was always a chance of them losing against the Spurs, thunder or cavs... Which provided for some good series. This won't be the case.

Curry could choose not to max out on his re-up contract to keep this line up together.

I doubt the NBAPA will allow him not to max out. They'll want him to to keep moving salaries higher.

LeBron's free agency next year is going to be very interesting after the Cavs get wrecked in the finals next year.

What center will give them trouble? None that I can think of
I expect vets to sign with them for cheap to chase a ring

is going to be the starting 5 and how they fill their bench

At this point people are just grasping at straws trying to find a weakness, or fabricate a reason why this team won't work.

They have by far the best 1-4 players of any team in the nba. So their 5-9 players are going to be their downfall? Which team has a bench that will overcome the Warriors starting 5?

The Warriors still have barbosa, livingston and iguodala. They can afford to lose one of those guys if necessary.

Barnes sucks and isn't a loss. Bogut is a rim protector but he looked a lot better than he really is because he was playing in a great system. Even speights and azeli performed well in the Warriors system. I'm sure they can find a solid athletic big man to fill bogut's place if need be.

Adding durant to this team is pretty much unfair. I could be in their starting 5 and they would still win the title.

Probably, but think about it:

A superstar that makes so much off the court money that his NBA contract isn't his primary source of income has motivation to not max out his contract so his team can use the cap room to put him more in the spotlight by playing in the finals and winning rings and therein cause him to make even more off the court money.

Its not grasping at straws which implies there is no legitimacy to the points being made.

They have ZERO centers right now. And while the game has moved away from being big men dominant, they still are a necessary requirement in some capacity.

It is a very real area of weakness for what is otherwise poised to be an all time great team. How much of an issue is yet to be seen because FA isnt over and the year hasn't started, but anyone that watched the post season should understand that hand waving away quality big men is foolish.

What team could he join that could beat them?
Clippers maybe?

It's not about the star player. It's about raising the salaries and making sure the owners spend all their money.

Idk, but he did say
quote:

“I really hope that, before our career is over, we can all play together,” James told Bleacher Report’s Howard Beck last month for a story published today. “At least one, maybe one or two seasons —- me, Melo, D-Wade, CP —- we can get a year in. I would actually take a pay cut to do that.”
This move might precipitate that especially if the Warriors turn out to be unbeatable.

The 90's Knicks and the flopping Euro-Spurs made the NBA almost unwatchable for 10 years.

No thanks.

Funnily enough the narrative would probably be extremely favorable to them if they did it.

The stars are aligning for it as well. Wade on a 2 year player option deal. Paul expiring next offseason, Lebron taking another player option deal in all likelihood. It would just have to be in NY because of Melo....unless he demanded a trade which seems unlikely.

East coast media would swallow that shite up too.

I'm not convinced they will get many ring-chasing vets. In the era where that was happening, 90% of the league was capped out from bad contracts leaving vets to choose between the MLE with a terrible team and the vet minimum with a good team. With the crazy cap boom, those same guys who may have picked a mil and a ring over 5 mil will be choosing between a mil plus a ring and $10-15 million.

All that being said, they should still be plenty talented to win it all filling in the gaps with marginal NBA bodies.
