This is probably being discussed elsewhere, but how long can they hold this together. Obviously they were able to afford bringing in Durant because of the big cap increase. At some point the rest of that team is going to want to get paid too. I guess either way this year the Warriors are practically an all star team.

What's sneaky about this death linueup is the rim protection Durant brings, which the old death lineup mostly lacked. They shooting will obviously improve as well.

I'm more curious what the lineup will be the rest of the game.

You just lost Bogut who proved to be a pivotal component against teams that have size, rebounding, physicality and the ability to get to the rim.

The death lineup will be crazy and be able to board and protect the rim better but I'm interested in how the rest of the roster pans out? I.E. who plays center?

Will they still have any rebounding issues?

i won't say KD will provide "rim protection" but adding a 7-footer to replace a 6-8 pure swingman is pretty big

well thompson and green are on contract for a while

iggy is making like $15M per and he's coming off the books shortly. bogut was making about that much and he's gone

next year steph and KD split the increase in the cap or it can get a bit fuzzy. i seriously doubt KD and curry will make a mess of it b/c KD knows what he's getting into

the biggest issue is going to be the starting 5 and how they fill their bench

KD led the best rebounding team in the league in rebounds. I think the death lineup will be much better on the boards and defensively but I think its the rest of the time you have to wonder about.

The luxury tax line is 113 million, and if I am doing the math right, the Warriors will have 9 players on the roster after spending about 92 million. So they can easily sign 5-6 more guys with the remaining money.

Next year, the numbers will be even higher (maybe 125-130 million), and of course Curry and Durant will sign larger contracts. However, the Warriors will also be shedding the Iguodala, Livingston, and Jason Thompson contracts at the perfect time.

There will be some games where they will be raining 3s like crazy and you can't double anyone. Literally all of these guys can shoot (iggy being the weakest, but he does have games where he's money)

It sucks just hand them the trophy for the next 2 years - NBA lost a league pass subscriber today

that is kind of the big deal people aren't really thinking about

they still need ring chasers on min contracts to finish out the roster but that's likely

He's got 5x the block rate of Barnes and the death lineup in the GSW series had trouble scoring over him. He's a better rebounder too.

Also, imagine the pick and roll/fade with KD and Steph/Klay.

I mean they can get 3-4 guys on 6 million dollar a year contracts without much difficulty, no?
