the entire Astros staff? Wow

Link?

I’m only aware of one former Astros employee who was cut from the fold after such shameful allegations. I can’t even remember his name but I do have a pic that I use to remind myself of the disgusting people in baseball. Guys like him will lie and cheat the downtrodden and soak up ill earned praise

but were specific rules in place to guard against their method?

You should look into the whole story, for years there were complaints from all around baseball on the astros and a couple other teams. These teams were notified to stop doing what they were doing and they were brazen, braggadocios, and smug about it so they got caught.
it really is that simple too

We’ve gotta be the mentally-weakest society on earth if we have people melting over a team STEALING SIGNS, IT’S BEEN PART OF THE GAME FOR CENTURIES, IT’S GAMESMANSHIP, DOING IT LIKE SPYGATE IS THE NATURAL AND PROBABLE CONSEQUENCE OF THE ADVENT OF TECHNOLOGY, people seriously need to get a life

Careful now. You might end up talking about a big market team formerly of New York who won a nl pennant sometime between March 1951 and October 1951. We can’t have a New York team implicated in this

No, they broke out the technology to gain advantage to beat teams. The teams who are bitching about this technology were sitting on their arse. They should all have been doing this as well. Every NFL, College Football, NBA, NHL, etc team is doing this type of shite

I gotcha, they violated the commissioner’s directive in response to prior instances of this around the league, cool, now we move on with life

Increase in spin rate for a bunch of guys when they joined the Astros. It’s a strong indication of a foreign substance. Likely pine tar, bullfrog etc.

You sound as retarded as Skip. Let me give you a scenario so you can understand.

Let’s say Cardinals vs. Astros

Cardinals are up to bat with nobody on base. No base runner of any kind. They obviously can’t steal signs if they have no base runners to see the signals. Cardinals go 3 and out and Astros are up to bat. Same thing, Astros have nobody on base. Guess what, Astros can still steal signs because they have cameras to see it. Not only that, they have a much better view with technology AND the catcher has no idea he is being watched.

This is irrelevant information, but also a new theme on this board when posting about the topic.

Every fricking team in every single sport always finds ways to cheat.

And generally, every sport tries to combat said cheating.

It was the communication via a trashcan bang to signal an offspeed pitch to the batter that took it too far, atleast once the memo was issued and ignored by the Astros.

More than a "couple" teams did it before that. It was wrong even before, but the media won't talk about that because the big dogs are then implicated.

Every team has a camera in the outfield for player development and pitcher video.

The issue at hand was that they had a live feed near the dugout

I'm not sure that there is much of a difference between a guy on second stealing the catcher signals or having a camera in the outfield doing it then relaying to the batter in some way.

Yeah - if they are communicating with players during the game, that’s illegal too.
