Pels as a two seed-improved attendance to the point where the Hive (rip) was a great crowd.
You're just making shite up at this point.

Shell read the article I posted. 2008 was an aberration due to Katrina. Fans showed up in spite of the city still being rebuilt/half of it being closed off etc.
If only there was another team in the city at that time taking all of the fans attention, time, and money by going on a historic run culminating with a Super Bowl....
So what are these winning years with good attendance you speak of? You name the years.

I hope so, because, and I'll say it again, half the goddamn city was under construction still. Fans started showing up in spite of that during the all star break because we were winning a lot.

Next you are going to tell me the oil spill was the reason attendance was down in 2010

Idk, did the oil spill destroy thousands of homes and hundreds of businesses?

The Pelicans are dead last in the NBA in average ticket price at $35. And they still have trouble getting fans.
The average ticket price for the Rockets is $88.
If the Rockets lowered their ticket prices to that of the Pelicans, it would be a sellout every night.
Supply and demand. Rockets games are in greater demand so they can raise the ticket prices to a point to maximize profit. If they were only averaging $35 like the Pelicans they'd be turning people away.

It's dumb for anyone to even be comparing the two cities. People know we haven't had the best in attendance. But for the size of the city, the lack of history here, not exactly a stellar product on the court, the Pels still have a pretty decent contingency that are informed and plugged in to everything pels when it comes to fandom...... I don't think it would be fair or even smart to try and compare it to Houston and the Rox.... kind of silly.... but all in all we have a pretty solid group of fans that try and get over to tBlender and have a blast that could really be built on with a consistant product and some tweaks to the overall atmosphere (ala updated music, halftime, alcohol prices, etc), but honestly give us a good first round showing this year (would be awesome to get to the 2nd rnd), get Boogie to resign, and Nola could easily move into the middle of the pack as basketball towns imo.
But Nola will never be Houston just from a money and population stand point.
ETA: Marle, you pick seasons back up this year? Thought you had let them go last year? I could be mistaken.
I probably went to 2/7ths of the (home) games or so last season if I was to guess

this dude is right for once.
As a 6yr season ticket holder Pelicans fan base is pathetic.
I love when people argue otherwise on here that never go to games.
Just because there are other people willing to talk Pelicans on this board does not mean it translates to ticket sales. There are tickets under $10 most nights and it is just about always empty. You cant go to a game 5x a year vs good teams when there is decent attendance and determine we have a solid fanbase.
