I honestly know nothing about him as a coaching prospect outside of his working with Brady…and that his teammates respected him enough to carry him down the field
Seems like complete 180 from Urb.

Seems like a good fit. I think he'll do well.. relative to the Jaguars. If I was a Jags fan I'd be excited about the hire - rather than one of the many retread guys floating around.

I bet this will end well for Jacksonville…

At least the few Jags fans there are will know him from his time there. He's been tied with Arians his entire coaching career and (although it may be a bit unfair) it seems like it would be relatively easy to be Tom Brady's OC. No offense to Leftwich, but do we really think his input with Brady...a guy who is older and was a playing peer of Leftwich...was really all that impactful? I'm sure Tom really put a lot of stock in what the backup QBs he played with had to say.
Still, if you are Jacksonville, there is not much risk in the hire. The players soured on Meyer almost immediately. So why not bring in a guy who they can see as more of a peer than an authoritarian dictator whom they had no respect for whatsoever?

It's hard to say. I mean no one knows everything about their profession - it doesn't matter how good they are. I doubt Leftwich just never offered Brady any useful advice, coaching, or insights.
Plus, there's also the reverse. Leftwich can take what he learned from Brady and apply it as a coach.
ETA: Also, playing ability =/= coaching ability.

To be fair Bieniemy has been a commodity after running Andy Reid's system, who is one of the greatest offensive minds in modern football, and Patrick Mahomes as his QB. How much of it was Bieniemy?

He’d fail miserably there

Keenan McCardell - WRs
LaBrandon Toefield- RBs
Kyle Brady- TEs

Speaking of, with so many NFL vacancies still to be filled, why did the Coaching Changes board get shut down already?

Bucs getting two 3rd round picks for that.

I was imagining Maurice Jones-Drew for this

Backup quarterbacks aren't dummies.
Arians liked what he saw in Pittsburgh enough to make Lefty an assistant.
Always been a fan of his and hope he succeeds in Jacksonville.
