Point being, inflation exists when it comes to stats, comparing peers is way more accurate than comparing players from different eras.
I love how every thing is considered harder for Kareem, but no one talks about the era. Guys were putting up 50/20 then and it was to be expected. That shite is impossible in today's game. Possessions were through the roof, no one played defense, point totals were higher than they are today, etc.
But yeah, go ahead and give Kareem all the benefits of the doubt.

Lebron is less than 280 games of 25 points per game of being the all time leading scorer in the NBA and scoring isn't what he does best.
He'll reach 3rd all time in assists.
He's been the best player in the league for an absurd amount of time considering athletes have never been this optimal and efficiently trained. It's a more global game, etc.
He'll reach these heights not limping to the end like every other player(except Kareem), but still dominating the game.
And he'd have been without question a better player in any other era. This era suits his game the least.

He's about as efficient a scorer as humanly possible and quits when his team is losing according to people like othello.

I never really get this argument. He didn't really get into weight training or nutrition/recovery until he hit the pros.
He was 6'8 240 leaving high school without that and capable of hitting an in game Eastbay. LeBron is probably the most physically gifted player ever. His natural physical gifts are more than pretty much anyone else with the best training, nutrition and recovery.
In the 70's, people would have thought he was an alien. Dr. J was 30 pounds lighter, could jump about like LeBron could and people thought he was the greatest athlete ever. LeBron would have blown people's minds.

So basically if he played until he was 41 like Kareem did. But how about this to make it simpler for you...Kareem averaged 24.6 ppg for his career and Lebron is currently averaging 27.2. In fact, Kareem only averaged 25+ppg one season the last 11 years of his 20 year career. Lebron has never averaged fewer than 25 ppg in his 15 year career

Davis did it recently and he was one of the very few to have accomplished it in the past 50 years. Shaq/ Webber did it and Bob McAdoo in the 70's.

I'm not trying to diminish his accomplishment at all. But I'm curious, how many guys have played 16 seasons in the NBA. More than 100? 200?
