Did it on his own. Just left him and Pog couldn’t follow. Worked his way up to the chasers, then they refused to help him...which is why he got outsprinted at the end and didn’t get bonus time.
Except for the Bora rider, I thought those guys did Jonas dirty. None of them or their teams were going to gain anything, unless I'm mistaken. I don't see why they sprinted ahead of him. Their sponsors aren't going to be any happier with 3rd place as opposed to 4th place.

Pog didn’t even get out of the saddle. Seemed a bit off. Jonas looked really strong and has the best team.

Those guys were in the break all day. Buchmann is no way going to help Vingegaard catch his teammate. Gall was gassed. Ciccone was also in the break all day. It was his job to do, he’s the one racing for yellow.

Jonas destroyed the fastest time ever on Marie Blanc by 1:30, which was Pogi and Roglic in 2020. That’s completely absurd on a 20 min climb.

I just noticed on Peacock there's a world feed for replays, do they also do it live?

Pog put 50 seconds into his previous 2020 time on Marie-Blanque
, did approx. 6.7 w/kg and still lost 36 seconds to Jonas.
Jonas did around 6.9 w/kg for 20:54. That is disgusting.

That's sick. Where are you getting these power numbers from?

Yes, that's the feed I watch live. Hopefully they've got the audio issues fixed from the first 4 stages. Today was a little better. But there are zero commercials and tons of facts about the regions and buildings etc. Haven't even thought about watching the domestic feed in 4 or 5 years.

Got a feeling Jumbo is going to try and punish Pog while he appears weak. The old Armstrong philosophy might be in play…take time when and where you can. Pog might get better as this goes on? That will be answered eventually I guess.

Calculated it from Pogs power available 2020 power data up the same climb. Assumed weight for Pog was 65.6 kg and for Jonas it was 60 kg

Post #2 updated with all current standings, results, etc
Jonas has looked amazing. Maybe Pog is playing mind games this time? Two and a half weeks to go still really

Bora I understand, but the other guys I didn't.

I'm curious what prompted Jonas to attack - when I was watching live, I thought both of them would ride in together. They both looked strong. Was Jonas able to see something or did he just decide to see where Pogacar was at?

It’s going to take a lot for Poj to win. I am disappointed but Ving is so strong and last years downhill pause to wait for Poj makes me like him better.

I think they just stuck their toe in the water to see where Pog was at and got an answer. Pog’s lead in to the tour was always in question because of what happened with his crash at Liege. BTW…Pog was not terrible today but not super. He may show better tomorrow or may get gutted…no one will know until we see it. Can’t wait!

Yeah, I guess Ciccone could have. Gall is down by 5:47, he had nothing to gain.

My bet is that Pog goes tomorrow.
As hard as these guys went today, tomorrow will also be a tough stage. God I love the Tour.

Pog is done. This is Vinny's race to lose now.
