I thought the Separatist had officially joined in with Spanish government.

One of the Big European courts earlier in the week held that Spain could extradite the separatist leaders back to Spain to be tried / thrown in jail. So definitely still a contentious situation.

I did not think Pog would attack, didn't think he had it in him. I thought he would out sprint Jonas at the end and grab a few seconds. But he's probably going to get about 15 seconds here.

Jonas will get yellow but gave up about 22 seconds to Pog. Great ride for both. Never ceases to amaze me, what these guys can do on a bicycle. They just rode up mountains. On a bike.

This sport is so crazy. Just when you think one thing it’s another. Pog is a fighter. Great start to this tour.

Jumbo Visma threw everything at him. Pog is better equipped for the classic type stages and could take some more time there. Van Aert is an absolute machine.

It’s a 2 man race. I think Pog is the all around better rider, but Vingegaard is strong and his team is insane.

Jonas set the record on the Tormalet by 2 mins and lost lmao. We’re fully back to the Pantani 90s, early 2000s and I’m fully on board.

anyone who thinks doping isn't still in full force is an idiot

Christian gave a veiled reference to this in the stage recap, talking about the speeds. Pog's acceleration when he dropped Jonas was Armstrong, Contador, Pantani -esque. Of course, the rumor is that Contador skipped the drugs and put a motor in his bike. Maybe both. But, whatever...that's for another day.
