I think it has to be a guy that’s not on a polarizing team, has elements of an everyday Joe, but also traits of a great person, loyalty, etc. I assume this needs to be a guy that every fan has heard of…here’s a few candidates.

Joe Mauer
Mike Trout
Jim Thome
Ichiro
Andrew McCutchen

“hating” good baseball players is relatively new since we know way more about them now then we ever did back then.
