I was going to say Lloyd Carr too. He was a grumpy guy to the press, but I’ve never heard anything about him covering up bad player behavior or cheating. I don’t know anything about his personal life though.

His Maga af shite is a routine. Sir Winston is a liberal. Just search how many time he's posted Maga af on this board.

Seems like we have a consensus on Mack Brown, possibly Stallings and Carr.

Saw someone mention Bobby Ross.

How about Lavell Edwards?

We all know he was close to retiring and sold out to win a Natty Press gave him 1994 because he said he was retring even though PSU would've definitely kicked their asses.

And then he realized, he had some great athletes from the hood. Not like Nebraska vets players. Colorado and Nebraska were in an arms race to recruit the best LA gang members. So he stayed. Lawrence Phillips, one game suspension for dragging your girlfriend down nine flights of stairs. His response to the victim? Oh, I'm just trying to help the young man.

And Bear, wasn't he a drunk apart from the whole racial thing! Wife beating they say. Who knows he was so protected by the media, by the State, by the police, by the school, by fans. There's a story of Troopers pulling his car over and he tossed his houndstooth in the rear window and the Trooper just drove on by. Guy could get away with murder. He owned the State so nobody really knows his dark secrets.

Osbourne same way, unofficial despots. Paterno, Bear Bryant.

Maybe the last coach who wasn't A morally piece Fof shite to win the National Title was LaVelle Edwards. At least that's what we know...which is nothing but he was a good Mormon so we're told. And who the hell knows?

This question is like asking, what's the least dangerous black hole out there in the Universe?

Jesus Christ.

Not a CFB coach but did invent the concept of the ‘12th Man’, didn’t ask his team to do anything he was not willing to do himself, could outsmart even the most wizened technical experts, always had strategic vision with an array of tactical options at the ready and prepared his team for all scenarios, constantly wove life lessons into the game plan, and always, always instilled a belief that ultimate victory was at hand.

Finally, his coaching tree has been vastly successful and has withstood the test of many, many years…

Yep. It’s a shame the boosters got him fired prematurely.

But he’s the only coach ever to get fired, come back the same weekend for one last game, then retire on his own terms.

John McKay. I have never heard negative things about him.

Gene Chizik. I've met him on a few occasions and he and his wife Jonna are really good people

Bobby Ross?

His two sons graduated from West Point and Annapolis. This was well before he was HC at Army.

I’m not saying kids are a 100% reflection of their parents every time, but it usually is.

I'm pretty sure Lawrence Phillips was suspended for the remainder of the season. The controversy erupted when his suspension suddenly came to an end right before the national championship game against Florida.

Being a drunk doesn't make you a terrible human being. It just means you're flawed. And Bryant definitely had his flaws. However, his players loved him and he treated everyone equally regardless of their status. He suspended Namath multiple times throughout the 1963 season for his alcohol incidences even though he was our starting QB that season.

There were rumors of infidelity while he was at Kentucky but beyond that there certainly were no stories of spousal abuse that I'm aware of. I know my uncle (who worked at the Tuscaloosa airport in those days) had to assist Bryant off the plane multiple times because he was intoxicated.

Saban may coach for Alabama but that doesn't mean he isn't a "decent human being". His daughter might be a little trashy but at some point people are who they are.

You mostly don't hear anything about him at all he never really speaks.

Seemed fairly classy though. Him and belien kinda seemed like similar people

Carr helping set up Chad Tough was a great thing. The story of Chad though is just heart breaking. Michigan, has rallied around that though.
