Covered up drug tests and some felonious behaviors
The Sutton deal
Most unlikabke at times and dry man I’ve met.
He’s vengeful he holds things against his players
He lied outright to multiple coaches that worked for him

Now all that being said he can be a guy who once youre inside the “mafia” that can be a good guy at times. I was not true insider as I was not directly hired by him. Shorty and Coach Miller and Coach Stoops got me in

I found it very interesting he and Fry wouldn’t talk much after he left Iowa

In staff meetings you didn’t talk unless you passed him a card to describe what you wanted to say.

I do think his daughter being in the wreck made him more anti-social. I’m glad though it was never brought up much.

What's wrong with Saban except that he kicks butt.

The NFL story on him..

A Miami player was having a seizure in the Miami football ops building. Saban basically walked by without saying a word and headed to his office.

Were you going to acknowledge your incorrect statement about Schnellenberger?

Unsure why Stoops wasn’t mentioned.

Kept Mixon on the team even after watching the video.

And Bryant wasn't exactly MLK or Bobby Kennedy.

Good. Because while they both supported noble causes, the truth was they were both fairly bad people.

Stoops

Seems like he belongs in the conversation.

On a podcast around the time Stoops retired, a former OU assistant’s wife raved about Stoops and the culture he’d created at Oklahoma.

Basically said that Stoops losing his father at 28 the way he did (died in the ambulance en route to the hospital after complaining of chest pains while coaching a high school game) affected him greatly, and that Stoops preached family and work-life balance to his coaches.

The way Woody went out was unfortunate. But his former players to a man would take bullet for him.

I'd heard some negative things about his time at A&M from old Aggies, but in all the interviews I've watched with him post-retirement, he really seems like a good guy who put his family first. Maybe some of his "East Texas hardass" ways rubbed people wrong when he was younger and he smoothed with age. But he seems like a really decent dude.

How so? Because the other schools in P10 were sick of losing to Washington and gave them draconian sanctions for fruit baskets given to recruits (and all other guests) at the hotel recruits stayed at on their official recruiting visit?

Don James = clean, good guy. The only thing you can blame James for is Saban. Saban wouldn’t be a coach without Don James.

He recruited antisocials like Christian Peter and straight up perps like Lawrence Phillips to play for him and made excuses for those clowns. Tom Osborne is a scumbag
