at some point, they need to have a carve out in the salary cap just for QB contracts. You can't have one player taking up that much of your cap.

I'm thinking more along the lines of Daniel Jones, Dak Prescott, Kirk Cousins, Matt Ryan, Derek Carr, etc.

Cincinnati is about to have a nightmare situation. They have elite talent at QB and WR that'll both need to get paid, but teams who pay a QB AND a WR big usually suck because the rest of their rosters are garbage. It's also going to be really hard for them to let one of Burrow or Chase go.

Oh I know. It’s wild what qb’s are paid now. I remember some radio shock jock say what teams should do is draft a qb, if it hits, trade him in year 4 for a top round pick and start over.

He sounded insane at the time, now, I just am not sure.

I've thought for years now that teams should do this. I thought the Rams would try it when Goff's rookie deal was expiring.

I am quite sure that any prospective buyers are telling him to not do anything of the sort

Yeah, I'm sure prospective buyers will drop out of bidding for a franchise with a net valuation of $5.6 billion due to a single bad contract.

The question for the GM is, do you believe you’re Green Bay and going to end up with Farve and Rodgers back to back? Or are you actually Cleveland and about to end up with 11 straight 1st round duds?

Boils down to how lucky they GM feels I suppose

He is a legit fricking stupid person. Just a complete moron and the fact that he's got millions upon millions of dollars to his name makes me weep.

in regards to my future plans. As of March 2nd I requested a trade from the Ravens organization for which the Ravens has not been interested in meeting my value, any and everyone that’s has met me or been around me know I love the game of football and my dream is to help a team
Sorry if I missed it as I haven't read through the thread yet, but how does this make sense considering no other team is willing to meet his value with a trade either?

If he is worth what he thinks he is, someone would have put in an offer by now.

The facts are, you need an elite QB to win a Super Bowl now, and there are only so many. This isn’t the old NFL where Brad Johnson could get it done

The Browns may have given him that money but the Saints and the Falcons were probably close
Guess we'll find out, if a team gives Lamar more than $230mil guaranteed, you will be correct.

So far, that hasn't happened though.

Keep the QB. Some franchises go 30+ seasons without consistently good QB play. You can't give that up.

There were already unwritten rules about “poaching” tendered players, with the ravens being particularly sensitive to that kind of thing, teams hardly ever chase these players when they are RFAs. Let’s not pretend this is some uninfluenced free market

A lot of teams also view it as “I don’t want to negotiate a contract for them” because the one underrated option there is the ravens can always chose to match the dollars, so you’re almost required to make it a less team friendly deal in order to dissuade the ravens from deciding to match/ being able to match.

Lamar’s peak was that year he won MVP. His athleticism is going to decline and the injuries will add up. Teams would be foolish to give him a long term mega deal.

He's not worth it. He's won a single Wild Card and that's it. One Wild Card game. Always hurt. Not worth the money

Those legs get older every day. Dude needs to secure the bag soon or this could become a very bad situation for him.

Yeah I don’t know why any owner wouldn’t want to frick their franchise by trading away their future draft capital and then also tie up a quarter of the team's salary for a guy who relies solely on his athleticism and can’t stay on the field due to injuries. They must be racists or something.

Lamar's biggest mistake was not signing an extension after the 2020 season. He's already lost money from not being off of his rookie deal in 2021, and he could've been in line to sign another extension next year.

I don't wish the guy an injury but I do want him to just go away. I turn the channel every time his name pops up. Just bad vibes from that guy
