Burrow and Daniels offenses both had great success at LSU but it was easy to see Burrow would translate to the NFL. The jury is still out on Daniels and what he will do once his WRs aren’t running around the field wide open. If you look at both their highlights passing the ball Burrow was on another level.

Warner is spot on. This is also the problem with as much player movement in learning schemes. Most college offenses run about 10-15 plays over and over out of different formations and sprinkle in a few different ones. Obviously a few outliers are out there, but in general it’s not a lot of different concepts. Just Y Stick, Mesh, Screens, and stuff

Agreed, but also feel a coaches responsibility is to prepare the guys that have the chance to go to next level!!

What he is saying out loud is that NFL people look at college football as their minor leagues. So he’s whining their minor league isn’t getting the guys ready. I actually love it. Let these NFL teams worth billions keep making the wrong picks. Maybe eventually they’ll simply create their own minor league. Until then I hope the college coaches continue to do what they are doing.

You better be changing if you want to be a pro. The difference between a good college kicker and pro are massive. Your college coaching staff is not going to get you there.
There are far fewer kickers in the NFL than QBs…every break in college ball you fly to your coach, wherever he is, and you work harder than you did in college. Hell, the NFL kickers (on their first contract) do the same thing.
QB is far more demanding position…I’d expect they have a staff of coaches outside their colleges…which is the great thing about NIL, these kids have the money to put in the work.

This mentality is what's wrong with kids and parents today. They want coaches to pander to the 1% at the expense of overall success. I'm sure going 2-8 every year is going to have scouts beating the door down to get to your son and his teammates.

It was easy to know Stroud would be good in the NFL. Just because all these scouts and wanna be scouts missed it doesn't mean the tape didn't show it. They create bias like everyone else and they see what they want to see
He was one of the best QBs in CFB for two years, so he was obviously really good there too.
Maybe they can tell us what they saw in Young and all the other busts that told them they would be great

The CBA restricts the amount of practice - especially full contact practice. And, then, the coaches throw away opportunities to have their OL gel in preseason by playing starters one or two series a game. There's a price to be paid for that "load management".

The question comes up about Brock Purdy-the last draft pick in 2022.
Was he coached so poorly at Iowa State that no team in the NFL drafted him until #262?
Or was he coached so well that he translated into an NFL starting QB at the end of his first year?
Or were NFL scouts so inept they didn't see the potential in him?
Kurt should answer those questions too.

This has never been the case. Pro offenses have been more sophisticated than college offenses for decades. Wtf is he bitching about?

I understand the point Warner is trying to make, but using Daniels as your example is pretty lazy and wrong. There are tons of examples of Daniels going through his progressions and hitting a 3rd or 4th option. Of course, he had a really good OL that gave him time to do that. Nix would be a better example of what he's talking about.
This notion that Daniels was just throwing it up to wide open receivers is really stupid as well.

Who down voted this? Nothing truer has been said on this board. JB was better than his Coaches at LSU. You could definitely see his transition to the Pros.
