Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz and assistant Jon Budmayr will be suspended one game for a violation related to the recruitment of transfer quarterback Cade McNamara, sources confirmed to ESPN.

imagine getting suspended for tampering or illegally recruiting a QB in the portal and still having an offense that's shittier than shite.

Would be funny if for that one game Iowa came out in a fun and gun offense and scored 50 points

Three years of scoring in one game? That's just madness!

If only there was another Ferentz who could step in and coach that game. An offensive genius if you will.

Boy the NCAA really nailed Iowa for tampering
Not that any other schools have tampered

It was self-imposed by Iowa, but yeah, why? Nobody gives a crap anymore about the portal, tampering, etc. We all know it happens. It's the freaking wild west out there. Players are hitting the portal and ten minutes later announcing a transfer to XYZ school with a $1 million NIL deal. Like that all materialized in 10 minutes. Of course there was tampering before the kid hit the portal.

Self-imposed, lol. Iowa, or any school, should laugh at the NCAA when they call and then hang up on them. No reason to self-impose anything.

No, this was more likely Michigan being a whiny bitch and complaining to the Big Ten about losing Cade to Iowa. Oh, and thanks for nothing, he was hurt all last season.

Terrible news for Iowa fans. I don't know how they'll overcome FCS opponent Illinois State now.

I thought this was going to be about Kadyn Proctor when I saw the first headline.

Meh. They've had stability. There's definitely a ceiling at a place like Iowa and Ferentz has kept the floor high.

If history is any indication it will be through 2 field goals and two safeties.

Saw someone say this is like going 75 in a 70 when everyone else is going 90 and you get pulled over and get a ticket.
