Lacks infrastructure to host a WC game, people would end up staying in Minneapolis and Chicago to attend a game there.

Most states issue disaster declarations for federal funding and to bypass procurement laws. Not sure how a soccer match would be a threat to welfare.

Just another way for these assholes to increase my property taxes.

How the hell did Kansas City of all places get to host matches?

Well it is the youth soccer capital of the country.

What kind of money have some of the other venues spent? I'm not thinking Middle East, but more semicivilized places with infrastructure in tact.

That's bull. If you can't afford it, don't bid on it. Uncle Sam should not be subsidizing this shite.

And that goes for all sports. Especially gay arse soccer.

KC has a very rabid soccer fanbase. Also Midwest needed a spot after Chicago declined. I plan on catching a game.

That is the funniest part of this. The vast majority of what is impacted by the WC will be on the MO side, not KS. This is just an attempt to get some free money.

Is anything actually going to be happening in Kansas?
The last time I was there everything (stadium/hotels) were in Mizzou.

I don't think I need to look for anything from this statement:

Every city with an NFL team and stadium should be able to handle World Cup games.

DC not hosting this year will be only the 3rd time a WC hasn't been in the capital city of its host (one of the other times was Japan who co-hosted with ROK). If I had to guess it's because 1) FedEx Field is a shite hole 2) It's not actually in DC and a pain int he arse to get to.

I have no doubt that this new stadium that's being built would've gotten a bid.

Not much renovation needed. Most NFL sidelines are deep enough to fit a soccer field. Most Premiere league sidelines are right up against the stands.

I’m pretty sure USA has played Mexico in Vegas…
