I was all for this until MJ was on the second team. Dudes spiteful and essentially refused to put anyone younger than him on first team.

He’s clearly biased toward his playing days

If that were truly the case, he would have listed the second-team guys on the first team. All of the guys on the first team had retired as players by the time Erving got to the NBA in 1976. He didn’t play against any of those guys in the ABA, either.

So, as usual, a bad take by you.

Erving listed on his first team: Oscar Robertson, Jerry West, Elgin Baylor, Bill Russell and Wilt Chamberlain. On the second team was Magic Johnson, Michael Jordan, Larry Bird, Karl Malone and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.

Interesting.

Reason #36282628 why you can’t listen to athletes evaluating other athletes

Wilt Chamberlain would dominate any era, IMO.
Wilt would be average under today's rules.

In the 90's, Wilt would have been a borderline top-10 Center

That might be the dumbest take ever. Wilt Chamberlain was the most athletically gifted Center in NBA history. Maybe too 5 of all players athletically.

Bill Russell and Wilt on the floor at the same time would have been a serious issue for the second team on that list.

Hard to argue with his stance on Lebron. The NBA was at its best when the best players wanted to compete against each other, not join the same team like bitches.

Bill Russel was on the biggest super team in sports history, yet he is high in the list

There were years those Celtics teams had FOUR ALL NBA PLAYERS on it

Yes

It was 1 of only 2 teams in the last 30 years that only had one all star on it

Seems kinda batshit insane to call that a super team

Dude, for the last time, your wife sent me those pictures. I didn’t ask for them. I accidentally shared them in the group text.

Sounds like Dr. J resents missing out on free agency. As a guy whose favorite player is Larry Bird, let me say, that any top 5 that doesn’t include Michael Jordan AND LeBron James is just flat out wrong. LeBron will retire as the leading scorer in NBA history, top 3 in assists, top 10 in steals and top 35 in rebounds. He also probably the most versatile player in NBA history.
