Neither play for the team in the new years of the contract but the Eagles paid nearly $50 million less in signing bonus money.

Carson Wentz signed a 4 year, $128,000,000 contract with the Philadelphia Eagles, including a $16,367,683 signing bonus

The AFC is just ridiculous right now. Absolutely stacked!

Which is why I said he’s not a top 5 passer but also doesn’t mean he’s a bad or even an average QB. Their defense meanwhile is garbage

I’m pretty mixed on this deal. Ultimately I think you don’t build your team / spend on WRs so I guess it make sense not to double down on Julio at this point. With that said, they have massive other contract issues that I almost wish they had just cut bait and absolutely sucked for 2 seasons

Never played a down for the Falcons in the new years. So it cost them $64 million for a 2nd round pick.

people will blame Dumbitroff but he’s only partially to blame.

Arthur Blank proclaimed JJ a falcon for life so that was great for leverage.

Ryan Tannehill is the luckiest son of a bitch. 2019 gets traded to Titans to be backup qb. 2021 is one of the highest paid qbs and has a top 5 RB and top 5 WR to feed.

Seems like a terrible deal for Atlanta

Just the opposite. As good as can be expected given the circumstances.

They are both to blame, but Dimitroff moreso.

Without looking I guarantee he throws the ball a lot less than other QBs which helps with his passer rating. Dude has a tank in the backfield he hands off to 75% of the time.

You should have looked. He was 18th in pass attempts in 2020, only 4 attempts less than Baker Mayfield.

I like this trade because I'm a bucs n gators fan plus falcons lose a great player. Also I think this means ATL will play Pitts out wide in the slot all over just like he should be used. Will also get a ton of targets I imagine. Cant lie I hate the falcons but I'm really excited to see Pitts this yr as the #2 option

Can't believe the Patriots didn't get Julio for Cam if this is all it cost.

Know money is a factor but I believe julio has few more good years in him. Not sure how many more yrs he getting paid 20+ mill

Not sure what so funny 2 and 4 for julio jones steal if you need a top WR

Watch him have a great yr opposite AJ brown. Oh yea and how could forget the best RB in the league. Also a well coached team

If u needed a top WR which the Pats did. He still a top 5 or 6 WR imo def coulda helped them a ton on offense

Ok if money was the issue I get it.

Julio would’ve been nice but I’m okay with the weapons they have going into the season as it stands, especially if it frees up money to keep Gilmore

Pats would’ve had issues moving money around to take on the contract.

Figured that was the issue. Still think he has a great yr with titans and reminds people who he is.

Should be damn good team the titans

It wouldn’t be that hard to make the money work if they really wanted it internally. Hightower could’ve restructured, or a Gilmore extension, dummy extensions else where etc. they still have like 10-12 mil in cap space available.

They just didn’t want Julio that bad, right or wrong. Wanted the Falcons to eat some of the money to make it easier. Probably felt they already put a lot of chips in the table for this season and don’t want to handicap themselves going forward knowing their ceiling is capped a bit this year.

I’ll be dreaming of OBJ in a pats jersey in the mean time I guess

My buddy is the equipment manager for Titans. Said JJ is an absolute leader and has already won the locker room. Team energy is through roof. Hope he is that player to get them over the hump.
