The Sandusky thing was a cash grab and a convenient way to send Paterno packing. I don't think Sandusky molested anyone. The evidence against Sandusky is paper-thin: a lot of "repressed memory" stuff and several accusations that are at odds with what we actually know about the people and places in question.
One of the accusers said Sandusky diddled him right behind Paterno's house, FFS. Sandusky even suffered from hypogonadism, and was probably incapable of achieving an erection during the relevant time period. It is certainly not a condition that's compatible with the frenetic sexual pace claimed by the Commonwealth.
A guy named John Ziegler has researched this in depth and made an extremely compelling case for Sandusky's innocence in a podcast called "With the Benefit of Hindsight." FWIW neither of us are PSU fans, nor alumni.

Laughable that they and Baylor are still allowed to have sports programs at any level. SMU getting the death penalty for doing something that isn’t even a rounding error compared to their levels of depravity tells you all you need to know about the NCAA and their moral hypocrisy.

You say all that but why would the accusers decide to frame Jerry Sandusky of all people if he didn’t really do it? Why would Penn State want all that awful press if they just wanted to use it to get rid of Paterno? Occam’s razor says he just liked assaulting boys.
