If every coach and player on PSU’s current team was an openly proud child molester, I’d still root for them over Bama

Considering how entrenched he was with Paterno turning a blind eye, the program was complicit in the whole affair. The program should not exist, end of story.

John Doe 150? There were only 6 John Does at the criminal trial. Others appeared at the civil trial to collect the money the state was handing out. People do your research, a innocent man remains in prison while some lying teenage boys, now adults, are wealthy.

Paternos son railroaded Sandusky to protect his father. Sandusky was deemed guilty before people even knew who the victims were. There is alot wrong with the prosecution of Sandusky. If you are really wanting to know the truth, the evidence is out there. PS I'm not a Penn state fan but I did look at those who did the research in his defense.
I disagree with the role of Scott Paterno. Since he was an attorney, he advised Paterno to get his own attorney for the Grand Jury hearings.
The other PSU administrators who testified used Cynthia Baldwin, PSU’s general counsel. It was later found out that she did not disclose to them that she actually was not representing them and took a deal to become state witness. She and the lead prosecutor were disbarred for that stunt.

But then you'd need to give Michigan State the death penalty for Nasser.

I know this is the cool and edgy thing to say, but it’s a bad take.
You don’t bulldoze billions of dollars of assets, hundred year old buildings, all the while telling 40,000 students and thousands of staff to kick rocks and find a new way of life. You also frick over anybody who has a business in State College. Taxpayer funded infrastructure for the university? frick it…destroy it. Donor funded buildings? Destroy it. That’s a very emotional take.
I can entertain ideas about the Death Penalty and discuss what Paterno did and didn’t know. As for students rioting after his firing? Colleges are a breeding ground for group think and idiotic behavior.
If you want to hate the 18-22 on Penn State for something that happened over 20 years ago and came to light 13 years ago, great. Personally, I’m not going to dislike them any more than I normally would, as none of these players were born when Sandusky was doing his shite.
Penn State had awful leadership. But to essentially wipe a town off the map because of the actions of a few is a disservice to the hundreds of thousands that live and have passed through there. Leveling the campus is letting the bad guys win. Those bad guys are either dead or in prison.
I absolutely despise what those POS’s did. I also despise the culture at Georgia where a football staffer is dead because the Dawgs harbor POS athletes. Hell, you have a Nebraska fan calling out PSU on here, as if Tom Osborne didn’t turn a blind eye to a RB that beat the shite out of his girlfriend.

I’m okay with Michigan State getting hacked as well. What a weird arse conference.

2011 was the first time the public knew but not the first time abuse occured. In 2014, Paterno's words in a deposition from a 1998 suit were unsealed which confirmed the incident, and that he knew of abuse as far back as 1976!!! Penn State paid 30 victims $93 MILLION !!! LINK Paterno ignored the 14 year old kid who came to him in person. The victim was identified only as John Doe 150(!).
Do your research. PSU did 0 vetting of alleged victims for payouts so their insurer denied their claims. PSU sued their insurer, then the insurer used this case as one of the most egregious examples of PSU doing 0 due diligence before paying out settlements.

Dottie Sandusky, as of last year, still speaks on the phone with Jerry daily and drives three hours each way to visit him, every weekend.

It's pretty ridiculous to claim that just because a piece of shite worked there, the entire football programs should cease to exist forever. Thats like claiming USA gymnastics should cease to exist because of Larry Nassar.
This is peak virtue signalling.

Regardless of the insurer dispute over vetting claims, the FACTS of Paterno knowingly turning a blind eye to ANY amount of child abuse is damning. Whether it's 10 kids or 100 over 4 decades, it's not okay to civilized society.
But BradBallard seems pretty excited about enabling abuse.

Should have leveled the school and put up section 8 housing

I mean, you have people here suggesting you spend millions to demolish billions of dollars worth of property. That’s just a different form of cancel culture.
I’d be disgusted if something like this happened at LSU, but razing Tiger Stadium and an entire campus doesn’t exactly help anybody, especially in a state like Louisiana
We’ve had predators littered across our government. I guess it’s time to demolish capitol buildings, the White House, etc.

Fair take. The vast majority of PSU fans are appalled with Sandusky. They also believe there was a coverup but it didn’t necessarily involve the university or football program.
Sandusky was the head of the 2nd Mile, the largest provider of foster and mentorship services for at risk youth for central PA. They worked very closely with the office of attorney general and CPS. This is where Sandusky met his victims. He fostered hundreds of kids that he met through 2nd Mile. He adopted several.
This means the State of PA had a MASSIVE Dossier on Sandusky going back to the 70’s when he began fostering and adopting children. Yet, they never uncovered anything until 2010 despite hundreds of alleged victims?
Then, you have victim 1 from 1998. His mother told PSU police that Sandusky was being creepy around her son, PSU police wanted to make an arrest. However, CPS from Harrisburg quashed it and gave Sandusky the good housekeeping seal approval.
Yes, I think there was a coverup, but I think CPS and 2nd Mile knew a lot more than Penn State.

That’s about as perfect of an analogy as you can come up with. It’s an apples to apples comparison. Some people are so hell bent on dying on a hill they won’t see that perspective.

If you actually gave a crap about child abuse, you would be asking questions why a convicted child abuser was allowed to by the State of PA and CPS:
- found a charity for at risk youth
- allowed to foster hundreds, and adopt several that he was matched up with through the charity. Each time he had to be vetted. Yet, NOTHING! And, no investigation into how this could happen.
- as an employee of a service firm for at risk youth, why was he allowed to have one on one time with clients, take them out of school without parental permission, etc. This happened well into the 2000’s. This is where most of his abuse occurred and had absolutely nothing to do with PSU.
