Well he's been underperforming for the Dolphins for years so that tracks.

Not surprising when you have shitty Tua to throw to him

It took the last pick of the 1st, and a 3rd.

They swapped 4th round picks and Denver upgraded their position there.

You ca do the same thing for Moore, as bills received a pick also

It took a late 2nd round pick and Bills received a better 5th round pick

Waddle took a shite ton more to get however you slide it. A 1st and a 3rd vs a 2nd (while gaining an extra 5th)

Denver is in the exact situation where you make this kind of move. Good young QB on a rookie deal, you’re in win now mode, one of the last picks of the first round (where they were likely to take a WR anyway), you need help at the position, and the other team eats most of the salary this year.

Seems steep on paper, but it’s a no brainer for a team in Denver’s situation.

Sean Payton sure does love injury prone WRs.

I think he’s tailor made to operate in Payton’s system and his skillset lines up with Nix’s strengths as a QB

Waddle is a dunk and dunk possession receiver? I never thought of him as an elite route runner or an elite hands catcher. Is that not what Payton runs now?

That's a crazy amount for Waddle

20 yards per touch is an insanely high amount. Surely you meant something different

Yea I meant 20 yards in a single touch, not per touch. Seems like Denver hasn’t had any medium to big play threat for years was my overall point

if he stays healthy, its a good pick, if he doesn't, its bad. But, in terms of a Sean Payton offense, I think it works. Nix still needs a safety valve TE or big WR

Idk if good trade, but you were 4 points away from going to SB with your starting QB out. If you feel you a waddle away, giving up pick 30 is nothing.

SP will be 63 before the next SB is played, it’s all in til retirement imo.

All of this. When you have the window, you have to take advantage and some of taking advantage can mean an overpay if you think it gets you over the hump. Saints did this and while they are paying for it now, people forget how close this team was to being in the superbowl repeatedly during that time frame.

Broncos are trying to win RIGHT NOW, their window is now.

None of those picks would put them over the top for a SB, Waddle could if healthy.

Great trade imo

Love the trade for Denver plus Waddle’s contract is insanely team friendly.

I wouldn’t have guessed DeVonta and Waddle have had remarkably similar careers.

Career Averages:

Jaylen Waddle:
81 receptions
1,1000 yds
13.5 yds/rec
6 TDs

DeVonta Smith:
82 receptions
1,067 yds
13.0 yds/rec
7 Tds
