Burrow is MAGA but he has no spine. He loved meeting President Trump and had only positive things to say. Media and NFL then tried to cancel him and steal his Heisman and prevent him from being drafted high. As a deal Burrow sold his soul and signed a contract that he will only say what the media and NFL wants him to say.

Not sure I’d word it this way, but I do think a lot of celebrities have conservative beliefs but don’t have the fortitude to express them. They might see dropping a few woke cliches as simply the cost of doing business. I suspect Joe may be in that category, but who knows..

Lebron is pretty much the only truly elite athlete in modern times that has been able to be a social justice mouthpiefe and still have an all time type career. Yes he is an all time idiot too but his career can’t be denied

All others

MJ
Brady
Fed
Tiger
Nadal
Peyton
Etc

Has kept their heads down and stayed out of that mess. To be at that level it takes ridiculous amount of attention to detail and focus. Adding this to the plate makes it very difficult. The margins are just so damn thin to be an all time great that adding this just seems stupid to me

As far as I know, Joe hasn't been an activist in terms of demanding societal and political change one way or another. I've only ever heard him give opinions. I don't pay that much attention to off field stuff these days, though.

Yep, like this thread

Whitlock was public enemy number 2 on this board 10-15 years ago behind Jemele Hill and slightly ahead of Cowherd. The same people who melted over his every take are now “this mf spittin”. I believe that is what the well informed scholars of this forum would call a sheep.

Hopefully same fans that hate on Drew Brees keep that same energy for Joe Burrow…

Before you bring up the Jacob Blake incident with Brees ask yourself… what do you think liberal burrow thinks about the Jacob Blake incident and be realistic…

The only difference between them is Joe is probably more outspoken with regards to all the political issues today and Drew is the better all time QB and donated more of his time and money to Louisiana…

Downvote away but truth hurts.

I choose not to let politics influence who I enjoy watching play football… as far as I’m concerned Geaux Burrow and Brees!!!

Brees just put his name on his helmet because the equipment guy stuck it on there. Burrow went waaaaay further. He made a statement on the Jacob Blake ordeal

quote:

Cincinnati Bengals Quarterback Joe Burrow is among athletes globally speaking out about racial injustice in light of police shooting Jacob Blake in Wisconsin.

“How can you hear the pain Black people are going through and dismiss it as nothing,” Burrow said in a tweet Thursday. “How can you hear the pain and respond with anything other than “I stand with you.”
Burrow is an lsu legend and I will always love him for that. But between his political opinions and outfit choices at times he seems like an idiot

Ah, yes. The Heisman speech. Where he talked about the poverty level of....84% white Athens, OH.

You disagree with his opinions and his fashion choices and that makes HIM an idiot?

Uh, yes

I believe his opinions that he has spoke out on makes him an idiot. Anyone who feels like he did about the Jacob Blake and George Floyd ordeal is an idiot in my eyes

You can’t see the Jacob Blake incident and have the opinion of racial victimhood and not be an idiot. Sorry

No, I didn’t say that. I have Democrat friends who I respect greatly. But they will also say the Jacob Blake outage was bullshite and insane. Same with George Floyd.

If you think the Jacob Blake incident had anything to do with race and he was a victim at all, you are an idiot. Period

There is no way around it man. If you feel the way he does about Floyd and Blake you are a huge idiot. It’s impossible to think any other way

Now, truly, I think most people, including Burrow, don’t actually believe what they say on these race incidents. They are just lying for social points.

Guns
Abortions
Floyd
Blake

He he said batshit stupid things on all of those topics above

Like I said there are very smart democrats out there, and we can disagree and I still respect them. Certain things though make one an idiot. And I will gladly say that about certain things some republicans believe in too

Its not very confusing. Someone who thinks Jacob Blake was a victim, and thinks guns are the problem, and makes Floyd a hero, and then also wears the below is not a very bright human being

But I really don’t care either. I will always love him for what he did as an lsu player. I don’t need to be “friends” with athletes who play for my team. Who cares
