It's going to be sad watching OKC break up in a year or so

they can't afford westbrook/durant at max-level salaries to go with perkins, ibaka, and harden all making around $10M on average. that's about $60M in salary for just those guys. OKC can't afford a $70M payroll

We will sign harden but the it might be crazy w ibaka. His game has really improved. Sam presti has the plan. I trust him. Plus we have perk locked in for 3 plus years.

that's an issue, imho. they shouldn't have extended him and should have let him walk to use that salary on serge

We'll see how it shakes out. Presti is one of the best if not the best in the NBA.

And fwiw, I'd rather keep Ibaka than Harden if we had to make a choice.

any chance Durant and/or westbrook give up some of their cash to help pay for the other guys?

I'm not really an OKC fan but I was about to say this. I'd much rather Ibaka than Harden, you've already got two elite scoring guards, Ibaka is one of the few guys in the league that can do what he does

They can go well over the cap to sign those guys. Don't know if money is an issue, they seem to be doing just fine.

Don't know if they will though.

I don't think it is.

I'm holding out both Harden and Ibaka will take a discount (especially Ibaka) to stay in OKC. Both absolutely love playing at The 'Peake anyhow. Guess we'll see how it unfolds.

If they can trade Westbrook to some contender like the Lakers or the Mavs, and in a 3 way trade get a high draft pick, they can draft a PG and be okay, at least in that department.

even a discount to something like $8M per is going to be tough to absorb financially

Totally agree. If someone has to go, Westbrook is the one.

I would think Durant is the guy they can't let leave. I think they could try to trade Westbrook when he has a year left for a good big and more of a passing PG (somebody like Nash?) and try their best to keep Harden.

I think your right about Perkins. He's needed for some teams with good bigs like LA, but he's more of a luxury than a necessity.

I see Durant being the kind of player who would renegotiate his contract to bring in a big name FA.

Tiger bait. That's not going to happen. I think the okc ownership will pay to make it happen. IMO.

We had to upgrade when we delt Jeff green for perk. I wud like to see maybe we deal perk for a low block scorer. Aka pau. Wishful thinking. We won't hurt his feelings. Haha

I can see a team giving harden a max deal and ibaka getting a contract similar to deandre Jordan. The new cba rules kick in after next year so you won't have too many teams going over the cap as before.

They don't need a PG that scores 25 a game if they keep Harden. The best thing for Durant, and OKC is a pass first PG
