It wasn't what Lebron/KD did, it's how they did it

One did it professionally, in a matter of fact way after letting all parties behind the scenes know first. The other turned it into a childish circus. And I say this as someone who thinks Lebron is clearly the second greatest player ever.

Whatever makes you sleep at night.

No. It's a double standard. The criticism never made sense in the first place. It was just a search for rationalization of a predetermined position. Which is what you are doing again.

You'll get downvoted into oblivion but you're right

I'm sure Lebron cares with his money and championships and all.

How old is Durant compared to LeBron when he made the "decision"?
Posted on 7/4/16 at 6:17 pm to Roger Klarvin
I've never had an issue with what LeBron did. At the time and to this day it was the biggest free agency story ever. To me, an interview was the right way to do it. The Miami flame press conference was worse, imo.
I have no issue with the way either of them handeled F/A.

I know right. KD didn't even raise $2mil for the kids.
Such an a-hole!!!

Didn't the Cavs know he was leaving before The Decision aired?

I think your post misses the point.
Lebron chased a championship and that sucked for a guy that is considered one of the greatest. Those guys shouldn't have to be delivered championships...they should be able to earn them by building on the situation they are in.
Durant's move is ridiculously pathetic. He is joining an already championship caliber team. Big 4? That's a joke.
The difference between the two is that Lebron redeemed himself. What he did this year (an last in a failing effort) is what the greatest do.

Meh, OKC is clearly trying to improve and already very talented team. Cleveland was dogshit. What KD has done is an embarrassment to the Seven Gods.

This is the real question. Why the frick do some of you care how they did it or even that they did it.
OKC has likely come as close as they will to a title. This was a smart move for him if he wants to win. Same with Lebron in his 1st stint in Cleveland.

KD has every right to leave, so did LBJ.
LBJ did it in a way that even he regrets now and his hometown fans hated him for overwhelmingly until he returned. KD is team hopping at a level we haven't seen in a long time.
Both can be criticized for some legitimate reasons, though there are a lot of ridiculous criticisms on both counts.

LeBron's intentions weren't bad when he televised "The Decision". That TV event raised $6 million for charity and the Cavaliers were notified prior LeBron going on the air. He fricked over Miami when he left more than he did Cleveland. He bamboozled them into drafting Shabazz Napier to appease him.

The decision was a mistake... James even admits that... let it gooooooo

Im a lebron fan... and its perfectly okay to not be a lebron fan. Hell its fine to be a lebron hater. Thats what makes sports so fun, everyone likes different players. But holy shite please do not say the decision is the reason you "hate" lebron. That is the stupidest shite ever. If that bothers someone sooooo much, they have more issues than lebron. Omg he went on espn to announce where he is going!!! the horror, what a pos! Burn him at the stake. The dude has literally been one of the best role models in the nba. Never arrested, never faild drug test, never beat women.. nothing! But omg what about the decision!!!

I think people were more pissed that Wade, Bosh a Lebron conspired behind the scenes to put a team together and dominate the league. History shows that even winning the 2 championships that they did wasn't as easy as everyone thought it would be.
