People that are saying this simply want to rationalize their dislike for Lebron. They once could hang their hat on "he teamed up with two other stars." Now that they can't exclusively deride him for that, we're back to the Decision. Years of hate off of one hour of TV?

Just say you don't like the guy. You didn't like him before the Decision. It's ok to say that, just stop trying to rationalize the hate.

Why does it matter anymore? NBA is basically the WWE. Physical freaks who create controversy more off the court with their speech than their actual play. They put a ball in a hoop and cry at the smallest physical contact.

No hindsight Wade was already past his prime and bosh was never better than a top 20 player. He was also forming an essentially new team, not joining rivals. The Heat and raptors weren't the ones beating him. The year after he left the Cavs were literally the worst team in the league.

Durant is joining three top ten players in their primes on an already established team. An already established team that was a direct obstacle to his already very good supporting cast.

I don't really have an opinion on how good or bad either guys decision was. But don't fricking pretend that people didn't hate on lebron and his legacy for the "super team." The bullshite about how was superfluous. If people are going to have any consistency, lebron haters should hate Durant and the Warriors five times worse. Bc from a basketball standpoint, this way worse.

Lebron was the clear alpha and best player on those best teams. Neither will be the case for Durant

No, they didn't.

If they did, they coulda leaked it and ruined the tv show.

Yes, Lebron was terrible for raising a million dollars for the BGC by having the 'The Decision'. Idiot.

That you think that because he is a great player he should be forced to stay in a bad situation that is beyond his control makes no sense. It is not on any level a sound argument. He should build the situation he is in? Like when Jordan personally traded for Pippen or when Jordan personally hired Phil Jackson?

The one power that individual players have to make their situation better is in free agency when they choose which situation to put themselves, and you criticize them for exercising that power and say that they should have used other means which are not actually available to them.

The object of the game is to win. Often times players across sports are criticized for being too greedy to the detriment of the team. They take "too much" money that could be used for other players and are criticized for being poor sportsman, e.g. Brees the last few years according to the idiots. Then of the person arranges a situation to put together a better team they are likewise criticized for being a poor sportsman despite having a focus on winning.

There is such an amount of contradictory rationalizing arguments out there that I can only conclude that this is entirely an exercise is rationalization to justify preconceived feelings of the situation.

I love how this is the shitty argument Lebron fans are using to bash Durant. It's even worse than the OP's argument used to bash LBJ

It's not an argument. KD is joining a 73 win team that's coming off of back-to-back Finals. Those are facts.

Bosh isn't one of the top 20 players in the league? How many other players have made 11 All Star teams in the last 13 seasons? Curry is the best scorer in the NBA. Thompson is a one-dimensional player - a scorer, and he wasn't even in the top 10 in scoring in the NBA last year. Draymond Green is not a top 10 player.

The opinion that this somehow makes what KD did worse is an argument.

Will the Xmas game be Durant's return to OKC or a rematch of the Finals?

I really hate super teams. It's one thing when it's a bunch of players in their 30s that are past their primes (97 Rockets, 07 Celtics) but when players like Durant and Lebron are still capable of winning on their own without forming the Avengers, it's different. I'd be okay with this if the league got rid of 10 teams to spread the talent out more but that isn't happening.

That was a cute PR cover so the whole thing didn't look as bad. I think LeBron's Klutch Sports handlers are disconnected from reality sometimes. In the end, it doesn't really matter. I don't begrudge these guys for doing what they want. However, making a TV show and pulling the rug out from under Cleveland upset people for a reason.

I didn't follow KD's thing really closely, but it doesn't seem like he went fishing for quite as much attention. KD does come across as a bit of a pussy ring chaser, though. I'm mixed on these guys taking everything to Player's Tribune. On one hand, it looks narcissistic. On the other, they are just giving people direct information.

Like the Bulls in the 90s? Jordan, Pippen, Rodman/Horace Grant and the winningest coach in NBA history?

What Lebron did was no different than what these high school football players do during recruiting season. Yet, college football fanatics sit on the edge of their seats to praise and welcome the decision of a 17/18 y.o.

Its crazy that people are defending this move and still crucifying lebron. As if this isn't ten time worse. It really does illustrate how dumb so many people are. It's funny bc we're a nation in decline
