Big Ben also has 2 Super Bowl and is from that era. Does he get in? Idk if they should statistics wise, but as other say it’s hard to tell the story of that era without them.
It’s Brady, Manning and everyone else.
But Eli beat Brady twice in the SB, including upsetting a 18-0 team via david Tyree’s crazy helmet catch to set up the go ahead score.
I’m not sure you could tell the story of the nfl without him.

If youve never been the best or second best at your position for at least 3 years you dont belong.

Rivers
Rapistberger
Eli

All not getting in

Well get Tyree a jacket too. Can’t tell the NFL story without him as well

Honestly I don’t necessarily mind Eli getting in. I just thought there was zero chance or reason for him to be first ballot.

He shouldn’t get in either. Him and Eli were both slightly above middle of the pack among starting QBs for almost their entire careers. They wouldn’t even be on the ballots based on their careers in the regular season. If we’re going to put slightly above average QB’s in the HOF based on getting hot for a SB run, then is Flacco going to the HOF too?

Eli isn’t a hall of famer. Like not close.

This. The guy's major claim to fame is when the Giants won two Super Bowls. He wound up with a 50/50 win/loss record with the Giants going 117-117----not exactly stuff to get excited over.

He's not a HOF QB.

At all.

Eli is Teddy Brushi but a QB. Teddy was never the best out there, but performed well in big moments, but realistically should not sniff the HoF.

If Eli gets in before Vince Wilfork and Rodney Harrison, it will be a damn shame.

Maybe not in the next few years, but, he'll eventually get in. Winning 2 SBs in the biggest media market in America will carry him in.

Big Ben

64.4%—257 yards/g—1.69 tds/g—0.85 int/game—93.5 rating

Eli

60.3%—242 yards/g—1.56 tds/g—1.04 int/g—84.1 rsting

They aren’t even in the same league Big Ben is far superior which shows just how bad it would be to elect Eli

An 84.1 passer rating from his era being in the hall of fame is honestly embarrassing to think about

dude does not deserve it

I mean, he ranks 11th all time in passing yards and TDs and has 2 super bowl MVPs. Sounds good enough to me

Maybe I just don't see the HOF being a huge deal. I agree Eli isn't a first ballot guy but I mean Joe Namath is in there with 50 more ints than TDs

Bad example. Peyton is probably a top 5 QB all time. He’s better than a lot of guys.

He’s not a first ballot HOFer. But he belongs.

He’s 11th in career TDs and passing yards over guys like Warren Moon, Kurt Warner, John Elway and Joe Montana. He also is a QB that has two Super Bowls, and played for one team in a huge media market.

There are others more deserving, but I think he clears the bar for being worthy.

What a shame. Eli deserved first ballot.

Luke Kuechly also deserved first ballot.

That's largely a product of his era. 8 of the 10 guys ahead of him are his contemporaries.

It's cute that people think a 2x SB MVP who played his entire career in the biggest media market won't make the HOF.

The pushback among HOFers is real.

Over the last two years they voiced their opinions that they're tired of it becoming the " Hall of Good" that's why Eli isn't in. Nor should he rationally ever be.
