Of course he is. This isn't even debateable.

In terms of start/stop, acceleration, agility, top end speed, etc there has never been anyone like him. He doesn't need to be schemed open nor does he have to run a nice route. He just has to....run...and he's open.

Better WR? Unquestionably. More explosive, he is not.

Prime AB I feel like was most all around in terms of explosiveness. While Hill has out right speed, prime AB could turn on an absolute dime.

Lance Alworth has to be in this debate

If by Lance Alworth you mean Bob Hayes then yeah, you have an argument.

Moss ran a 4.25 40 at 6'4.

He was the most explosive, and one of the best WRs of all time.

He was unguardable, against the most elite CBs of all time (Champ, Woodson, etc)

QB position and/or OL play, was the only thing to ever hold him back.

Do you a link for that? I know he was fast but a 4.2?

He didn't attend the combine but had a hand-timed 4.24 and 4.28 at a pro day at Marshall. (according to wikipedia)

Moss missed Hill just by 4 seasons.

Moss' last QB (alex smith) was Hill's first QB.

Moss went 98-1493-23TD in 2007 where Brady threw 50TDs. Under Josh McDaniels, who of course is still calling plays in the NFL.

And came up playing under Denny Green (Bill walsh tree), he was in a pretty modern offense just about always.

He's the fastest I've ever seen in pads. His acceleration from 0-top speed is insane. Absolutely insane.

Randy Moss was the most explosive player in history. You can make the case that Hill has surpassed him.

Buts it’s ridiculous to just dismiss Moss. I think he and Hill are the clear top 2.

agree with this.

i associate Moss more with the term 'unstoppable' rather than 'explosive', which is more suited to reek.

reek can only be explosive really, once his speed is gone its over.....moss could do everything.

Hill is awesome, but Moss is absolutely the best I’ve watched. He was liable to score on any play. Consider too he didn’t have the best team or QB around him much of his career. As soon as he did with New England, Moss and Brady rewrote the record books.

Hill has almost exclusively played in loaded teams with top notch passers.

He's a freak. There's video of him outjumping Mecole Hardman by a foot.

Teams will still play single high safety against the Dolphins.

The moment Randy went to NE, he told Bill that he didn't need to worry about seeing it again-- and they didn't.

That's explosivity in a nutshell. Tyreek is as good as it gets now, but no, he's not the most explosive ever.

I think there is a size and strength element to explosiveness. Some potential candidates are probably:

Randy Moss, Tryreek Hill, DeSean Jackson, Devin Hester, Jerry Rice, Steve Smith & Megatron.
