At some point isn't this a major indictment of the style of football the Big12 plays?

Nah, you can't blame all those OU losses on the current Big XII. The conference was stacked until about a decade ago.

Texas managed to win it all. Mizzou, Texas Tech and fricking Kansas were factors in the BCS standings late into seasons.

If you go a little further back, Oklahoma, Texas, Nebraska and Colorado were all in the top 5 at various points, sometimes together. CU almost managed to slip into the Rose Bowl against Miami with 2 losses.

Arguably their worst loss, and the loss that first showed the chink in their armor, hasn’t been mentioned yet- the arse kicking Kansas State put on them right before LSU. Oklahoma hasn’t been the same since.

Yeah but their “goat tier” offense only had 150 or yards. The game was close in points only, I know that sounds funny. All I mean to say is that it was a truly disappointing showing for a team that got a massive benefit of the doubt after the k state arse kicking

I love OU for that classic Fiesta Bowl vs Boise. Easily one of my favorite games since 2000.

Getting there and losing is better than never getting there.

The new year really can't start until Oklahoma loses a bowl game.

That's why Georgia is the worst big game team. Something always kept them from getting there.

And Oregon was 0-2 in title games. But hey, they won a bunch of Eye Test National Championships!

I'm kinda partial to their Fiesta Bowl vs. WVU. That was a pretty big underdog story with Coach DickRod bailing before the season was over (think he had mentally checked out prior to Backyard Brawl loss). Then the Giants go and one-up the feelgood by knocking off the undefeated Pats in the SuperBowl a month later. Good times.

They lost to LSU in New Orleans and Florida in Miami

also Saban, Carroll and Meyer are the best coaches of this era.

What Bama has done recently has really cheapened NCs in a lot of retarded people’s minds. It’s still really fricking hard to win national championships in college football. And it’s no school’s birthright to do it ever, much less every so often. Also, you seem to be one of the clowns that defines “big game” as games lost. Oklahoma had win a shite ton of big games to get the opportunity to play in your “big game”s.

Also, OU has probably been the worse team in each of those matchups. Individually, Im not sure they should have won any of them.

OU is the only program to win a Sugar, Fiesta, Rose, and Orange Bowl in the BCS era. They’ve also been to 2 playoffs in 3 years. I’ll take that over almost anyone except Bama’s success.

2000- NC
2001- Won Rose Bowl
2010- Fiesta Bowl win
2013- Sugar bowl win over Bama
2016- Sugar bowl win over Auburn

These are big wins. From 03-08 were the Bowl losses to USC, LSU, WV, Boise.

Doesn’t seem that bad. When a program is at a high enough level to consistently play elite teams, there will be some losses.

I’ll take our success the past 18 years Over Clemson’s recent run. If Clemson wins another title then maybe I’ll trade. Lol

OU has been pretty unlucky.

- The 03 MNC was basically a road game against LSU in the Sugar Bowl.

-Adrian Peterson got injured in both his sophomore and Junior seasons.

-Bradford got injured in 2007 and caused them to lose and not play for a MNC. Although they still have a great argument for being in over LSU

-Demarco Murray got injured in the 2008 Big12 championship and couldn't play the MNC against Florida. Those long run OU got in the first quarter would of been yes no opportunity for Goalline stands.

- Bradfird got injured first game of the 2009 season.
