If leagues ban them, it won’t be worth the paper it’s printed on

Too bad they’re 100% legal.

Right now they are. I don’t see any way they remain legal, which is why I said “if they’re banned”

I only wish the astros were the ones who came up with this. The melt by the leftist media would be glorious

The Marruci bats have been kind of a let down this year with many on here noticing they may be a little flat.

Hasn’t hurt UGA which leads the NCAA in HR, SLG, R, and RBI this season and has been a Marruci school since Wes came over last year.

It was designed by a rocket scientist from MIT and will probably be patented by the Yankees.

Unless Yankees funded it, how is it patentable

Playing softball back in the late 70s early 80s I had a 36oz, 35 or 36” metal bat. It would launch a softball if you got it around quick enough. It might have been made by Steele. Can’t remember that far back.

What’s the advantage supposed to be other than “they look cool”?

The bat shall be a smooth, round stick not more than 2.61 inches in diameter at the thickest part and not more than 42 inches in length.

I don’t think baseball had this in mind when the rule was written. You could also argue the bulge is not smooth.

I fully expect them to address this as soon as other teams adopt the bat and start hitting home runs and the Yankees no longer have the advantage.

As anal as Jay Johnson is, you think they would be using a bat that gives them a disadvantage?

Either you are mistaken or the bat was illegal. Length couldn't exceed 34".

Smooth is the texture. So you can’t have dimples, holes, etc. Meets that requirement

Has to be tapered. It’s just tapered from both ends. Meets the requirements.

Fattest part is 2.61in. Meets that requirement.
