The fact you have a captain admitting they gave away the league winner for a player who is absolutely struggling because “they want to help them out and the move them” absolutely delegitimizes the competitive nature of the team aspect

bullshite.

Calm down, Francis. It’s a sports message board. Everyone is going to be just fine.

Bubba admitted to making a move not for competitive reasons, but in order to help a friend out

You think the owner of a sports team could publicly admit doing that? Publicly admitting to giving away the player that just won MVP in order to bring in a friend they want to help out? Yes or no, let’s compare apples to apples.

No one is upset, bud. It just seems you're incapable of getting your point across without condescension. If your arguments were sound, one would think that wouldn't be necessary. Makes me think you're not so sure of yourself and are overcompensating

We get it. You think other sports leagues have never had a trade for personal reasons and not on the field performance. You don’t like LIV. You have made that clear.

I listed Bryson ahead of him, and didn’t include Rahm because he wasn’t in the league last year

Somehow missed Bryson. Rahm should be included since it's official and the trade is taking place for this upcoming season. Again...

You think Gooch is for sure a better golfer than DJ, Rahm, and Niemann?

You know golf. I don't believe that you honestly think he is a better golfer than DJ and Niemann.

For the LIV fans out there, does anyone actually give a shite about the team aspect?

Not an LIV fan...but the team concept is a bit intriguing but the names are absolutely laughable: Hyflyers, Majesticks, Cleek, ...Range Goats would probably be my favorite name but they all sound like bad fantasy league team names

No I don’t think he is better than Rahm

Absolutely yes he would be taken above DJ if the terms are about winning golf. And him and Niemann both would be in the 4-8 range off the board

Going back to the original question posed in the OP.

I'm not sure the answer is as simple as "yes", because LIV is offering a new avenue for professional golf, so on its face that would seem like the opposite of killing it.

However, it's clearly watering down the product which inherently weakens it. I'd be more ok if LIV's intentions were to put the best product out there, not just load up on a bunch of big names so that the Saudi government can legitimize itself to the western world.

I’m also a bit confused how 27th out of 48 is one of the worst in the league.

Fwiw, Wolff felt worse than 27th. That’s just where he stood in the points because of a few good finishes, especially early on in the season. He finished 40th or worse in 7/13 events and 34th or worse in 9/13. His 4 good finishes came in the first 3 events (10th, 12th, 5th) and a 5th place finish later in the season.

He’s currently 350th in Data Golf, which is bottom 10-15 on LIV and Gooch is 46th, which ranks 5th out of all LIV golfers at the moment.

Not saying he can’t get it back, but I feel like it would be trading current Ben Simmons straight up for Frank Wagner or something of that nature.

I'd disagree with with DJ but it is easy to make that argument since Gooch finished first. Looking at the full list and based off talent and not last years result, I'd have him around 8-12. Better than i expected.

You have him 4-8. Let's compromise and call it 8th overall.

Matt Wolff, I don't know, maybe go by standings. He was 27th of 50. So pretty much a mid player.

If we're comparing them as a QB trade, based off that, it is more of a Brock Purdy for Sam Howell ish trade.

It's not an even trade. But it is not nearly as bad as you are making it out to be.

Except this is an awful example, because Gooch just won the equivalent to the league MVP

If you want to make an nba or nfl comparison, you need to use the reigning mvp, whether you like it or not, because that is what gooch is
