no gooch won last year. Wolff was 27th. How is this a bad deal? idk this all seems like LIV followed NBA twitter and needed to drum up some drama. LINK
Exactly. Brooks got gooch and gave away wolf…..

Dan Rappaport didn’t talk shite to brooks. He simply stated the obvious, how can we treat the team aspect seriously when trades like this occur

Here’s some more insight from Bubba about trading for Wolff, but I’m sure you’ll just laugh at it & say it’s BS.

You seem very interested in the team competition for the 2024 season. Maybe you’ll watch a couple tournaments

And in a true competitive sport, it’s still considered butt fricking retarded

Imagine the chiefs trading Mahomes for mac jones because Andy Reid said he really just loves Jones as a person and wanted to help him

quote:

Watson to Wolff: “I’ve loved you since day one … For me personally, this is a big deal for me because I’ve always wanted to help you. I love who you are. I love who you are off the course and love who you are on the course and so for me, it’s a dream come true. I tried two years ago to get you. I tried last year to get you and now it finally worked out. The way you play golf, the free-flowing swing, that’s what I love.”

Stop making a fool of yourself. It is a ridiculous trade if you are trying to legitimize the team aspect of LIV

So I think Bubba is legit a really good (also sometimes misguided) human. And cares for Wolff and wants to help him with his depression.

I think he values the human being aspect more than he values the golf aspect and thinks he can help bring the best out of Wolff.

All that being said, it’s still an insane trade and something no one in any legit sports league would make. If that was a fantasy football trade it would be vetoed so fast.

The bears traded 4 picks to move up one spot to select Trabisky. NFL cannot be taken seriously.

The fact you are doing this, and can’t admit the Wolff for Gooch trade is absurd, shows you absolutely aren’t to be taken seriously. Your bias and agenda is astronomical. Yet you try to pretend you are neutral

It’s a lopsided trade. Happens in every sport ever. You flipping out over it is amusing.

At the start of 2022, Wolff (30) was ranked higher than Gooch (31) in OWGR.

The 27th place in LIV last year is a bit over stated as he WD from a tournament & was also dealing with off the course stuff.
In LIV’s first season, Wolff was 6th (playing in only 6/7 events) & Gooch came in 11th.

I’m interested to see how he does this year & the trade could be great.

That's not even close to a good comparison. Yes, Gooch won the individual title last year but he's most certainly not the best golfer in LIV like Mahomes is in the NFL.

The difference in Mahomes and Jones is drastic. One of them is going to go down as one of the GOATS and one of them is going to be selling cars in a year or two.

If you were doing a straight up draft of LIV players, Gooch would probably be in the 15ish pick range. Wolff not all that far behind.

Gooch is the better player and they are the clear winners of the trade, but it's not nearly as bad as you're making it out to be.

Please, show me all the samples of straight up trades for the league mvp with one of the worst players in a league

No draft pick value, no salary cap movement, just straight up trade for a great player and an awful one. And then the given reason by management is to try and help the person grow. Go right ahead

This isn’t close to being true. Gooch is around 5th off the board for Liv.

I just explained why that’s an exaggeration. Wolff could be better than Gooch in 2024 & I hope he is.

I’m also a bit confused how 27th out of 48 is one of the worst in the league.

Regardless of it happening in other sports, bad trades in other sports are mocked, too.

However, Brooks and his team have some pretty thin skin to feel they need to respond to a journalist on twitter, especially resorting to personal attacks. I don't see GMs doing that in other sports because who fricking cares what a journalist says about a trade.

And tat tweet Rappaport sent out was immediately after making fun of the PGA Tour following Rahm's signing

Nolan Ryan and four others traded for Jim fregosi. MLB cannot be taken seriously.

Agreed. It doesn’t mean the leagues can’t be taken seriously because bad trades happen.

That was in 1971 before Ryan ever became an all star

There are a ton of awful trades in hindsight. Teams in other sports don’t trade current great players for current bad players just to help them out personally. That isn’t real
