I actually understand what the OP is trying to say. For most of the U.S. when you give someone the name of a city and ask what you identify that city with you will get a response.
Kansas City - BBQ
Green Bay - cheese, frozen tundra
Nashville - music City
New Orleans - Bourbon Street, Cajun, Mardi gras
San Antonio - River Walk
When you say Jacksonville what does the average person think of? Or Oklahoma City? I think that's what he is trying to get at, the character or identifiable characteristic of the city.

Exactly
and if not the city than the team. Both lack character.

I think the answer is probably OKC, but I'll also toss out Raleigh and the Carolina Hurricanes.
Raliegh is a nice place to live: safe, well-educated population, less than two hours to the beach, but it is a bit on the bland side. And the Canes haven't made the playoffs in like eight years.

Jacksonville - Seafood, Beaches, Largest city in the US land wise.
I've lived here for over 20 years, much better than the crap in NOLA. NOLA is a fun place to visit but would never have raised my kids there.

The Atlantic Ocean, but in the south.

One thing I miss about North Florida and South Alabama/Georgia is boiled peanuts. Personally I love boiled peanuts. Most people out here in CO have never even heard of boiled peanuts. I can't find them.
They are very easy to make

Or Newark.
thats a good one but i think of Kevin Smith types bumming around Jersey and going to the Quick Stop or the Mall.
also i hate the Devils franchise personally.

MSB would automatically become a better place if OP didn’t exist. Close minded

I get what the OP is trying to say.
I dont have anything against Jacksonville, but it doesnt stand out. When people think about going to Florida, they think Miami, Orlando, Tampa, the pandhandle beaches. And then its like, "oh yeah, there's Jacksonville".
I honestly have never met a Jaguars fan in my whole life, nor have i seen any kind of Juguar gear.
They have played a ton of games at their stadium with the upper deck closed, so i know they dont have a ton of fans locally either.

The stadium is too big for the market but they didn't wanna lose the FL/GA game.
I think Birmingham would've gotten the Jags originally but they wouldn't build a new stadium.

What a miserable premise for a thread, and miserable points in defense of OP.

OK, so you make flawed generalizations about cities, most of which have millions of people and thousands of businesses in them. After making those, you then proceed to educate us all as to why their team doesn't belong in the big game. Or why others should be in.
You praise the Green Bay Pakcers as a sports franchise because the fans in the state put foam rubber "cheese blocks" on their heads. That's somehow praiseworthy?
Yes it's fun, and it's a "thing" for sports fans, but to assert that this makes a town? And making the town makes the team a better candidate for a championship even though they didn't earn it on the field?
Madness.
